Nautical mile

I reverted your edit to Nautical mile because it was incorrect to say that it is measured at the equator. You will see from later in the article that a minute of latitude is roughly 1843m at the equator and 1861m at the poles. The current definition of 1852m is thus close to the mean between those extremes. If, of course, you were looking at a minute of longitude, rather than latitude, it would indeed be close to 1 nautical mile at the equator (about 1855m), and tapers to zero at the poles. --David Biddulph (talk) 07:21, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
