Big Cheese

Big Cheese here, popping in to say hi. Boredom Swells (talk) 16:29, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Twin Peaks

Hi Idiotchalk. Just noticed you creating Episode 14 (Twin Peaks). I recently finished working on Episode 2 and was planning on working on the rest of the first season when I found my DVD set again; but I'd be interested in collaborating with you to bring Episode 14 to GA and beyond in the mean time. Are you planning on bringing it there in the future? GRAPPLE X 00:26, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Definitely up for a collaboration, I was considering starting a Twin Peaks taskforce under WikiProject Television but wasn't sure if anyone else would be on board. As for "Episode 14" I'm just lacking in some sources about production/themes, it's my first time creating anything TV-related so I'm not sure where to turn to for web sources at least. Idiotchalk (t@lk) 01:18, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Not a problem, TV's my strong suite. I have some books on Lynch lying around I can dig out; and DVD features are always good for production info. I'll have a look tonight to see if there's anything specific for 14; 2 benefitted hugely from a commentary track by the cinematographer. I've added a bit about Ray Wise's opinion of the reveal, and I'm working on fleshing out the ratings a bit better (I originally had used the same ratings source you were using but when I looked through newspaper archives from the time I found that those images seem to have the viewing numbers hugely inflated, which is odd). The A.V. Club is a great resource to use, and given the impact of the series Google Books is worth a scour for critical analysis. A Twin Peaks taskforce would probably have some numbers if proposed but I don't know if the scope's really wide enough (30 episodes and a film isn't a lot, even if it is fantastic). Have a wee duke over Episode 2 (Twin Peaks) and see if any of the web sources there are useful to you too. GRAPPLE X 01:25, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Would you have any objections for me nominating the article at T:TDYK? GRAPPLE X 03:41, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the source suggestions, I'll have a dig through some tomorrow and see if there's anything relevant. And no problems with the DKY nominations. Idiotchalk (t@lk) 04:01, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Template:Did you know nominations/Episode 14 (Twin Peaks), in case you'd like to add anything or propose a different hook. I like the teasing of that one though as it promises to reveal the killer without actually sticking a spoiler on the front page. GRAPPLE X 05:15, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I'd say it's looking good to go for GA, if you don't mind me firing a nomination up for it. GRAPPLE X 14:06, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Just had a glance over and it seems to meet GA criteria--as I said not too experienced in television articles but I've compared it to some oter GAs and it seems on par. I'd say go for it! Idiotchalk (t@lk) 14:41, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Me again. I've given the article another going over and I'm happy enough to bring it to FAC some time this week. Just out of interest, you don't happen to have the series on DVD, do you? I have the two separate season sets and in terms of special features there's little to nothing on individual episodes in season two; was wondering if the "gold box" had anything better. If you don't then that's fine. Anyway I'd want to put your name down as a co-nominator as well to give you due credit for your work; if you want to give the article another look over to see what you think of it, I was thinking of making the nomination maybe tomorrow night or saturday but I can hold off on it. GRAPPLE X 16:16, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Afraid I don't have the DVDs or the box set, just the online HD releases, sorry. As for the article, I had another read over it and will make a few very minor edits and then you can nominate it as a FAC, it seems to be up to scratch with the "Episode 3" FA. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Idiotchalk (t@lk) 17:14, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Pretty on the Inside

Hey, just saw you reverted my edit on the personnel listing for the artist who did the front cover of the album. You stated it wasn't a reliable source, but his name is actually listed on the back cover of the album itself. It reads: "Front cover art - Pizz", right beneath the listing of Kim Gordon and Don Fleming as producers, so it's legitimate. I looked up the artist to make sure and see if I could find any information, and he is in fact an actual graphic artist from Long Beach who has done lots of posters and also designed cover art for several other punk bands in the early '90s, including lots of Sympathy for the Record Industry artists (which makes sense considering Hole was signed to that label at one point and Courtney Love was friends with Long Gone John— I'd assume shea probably got a hold of Pizz through him). Would like your input on this, since I think it deserves to be on there. Scottdoesntknow (talk) 03:56, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Just checked out my copies of the album, you're right Pizz is there. It's just Discogs wasn't a RS per WP Albums, using the album notes reference from Personnel should be fine. Idiotchalk (t@lk) 04:01, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Fightstar GA

Hello Idiotchalk. Is it possible for you to not post your Fightstar Good Arts review till 27 August? I know there is a time limit that an editor has after an article has been assessment to improve the article to GA class. And because of this I ask for you to delay this as I am at Reading Festival 2012 23-27 August. Jonjonjohny (talk) 18:12, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay you would review it coming close to a month ago now, whats the hold up? Jonjonjohny (talk) 20:33, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Apologies, the GA review is in a text file on my laptop, which is in repair. Once I get it back, a couple of days from now, I'll post it. Part of the GA review is posted here. Idiotchalk (t@lk) 21:32, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I left some comment about the references on the article talk page. Once we get that sort out we can move on to reviewing the prose and content. WesleyDodds (talk) 12:30, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

You are reverted mi edition in Kurt Cobain but I haven't violated any rules of Wikipedia because I'm talking about a past auction. I am not advertising any sale. Can you explain me? Saocarlos (talk) 17:00, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

An auction site was used as the only reference and the edits were prohibited by WP:SOAP. If there's other sources available, feel free to add the information back to the article. Idiotchalk (t@lk) 17:14, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

"Episode 14" at FAC

I've nominated Episode 14 (Twin Peaks) as a featured article candidate; I've included your name as a co-nominator due to the work you've put into it, as you deserve credit for that. If you want to be involved in the nomination, feel free to; but it can be a bit daunting at times so don't worry if you'd rather remain a little hands-off with it. It's entirely up to yourself. FAC

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Complex (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Revolution1221 (talk) 20:34, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
