What Are The Criteria For Choosing Administrators In Wikipedia?[edit]

By the way, what are the criteria for choosing Administrators in Wikipedia?. Can an Administrator who is a Europian based in Europe for instance, be able to appreciate the socio-cultural and political imperatives in Africa necesary for proper and indept evaluation of debates on "Notability" of an article whose subject matter is an African personality?Ijele (talk) 11:09, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re-Deletion Of The Article; "Chidi Anthony Opara"[edit]

There is an urgent need to re-evaluate the quality of Administrators, who interprete Wikipedia policies. The policies are fantastic, but the quality of those interpreting them leaves much to be desired.I have noticed a tendency to be hostile to articles on personalities in contemporary literary genres like poetry. This is mainly as a result of inability to develop the intellectual capacity needed to evaluate such articles. While for instance, it may be easy for most Administrators here to correctly evaluate the notability status of articles on film stars and politicians, articles on Poets for instance are always wrongly judged, because of lack of adequate understanding of this area of human endervour. This intellectual shallowness often breeds envy which in turn manifest in the tendency to always list and relist such articles for deletion by editors and subsequent deletion by their Administrator friends, like the case of the above mentioned article. Articles on contemporary literary personalities, especially poets from third world countries like Nigeria suffer the most. Wikipedia needs to regain its credibility.Ijele (talk) 18:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
