Disputed non-free use rationale for File:MGMRecord45.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:MGMRecord45.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fats Domino recordings[edit]

Hello,

Based on many years of painstaking work on the compilation of discographies as part of a team of enthusiasts of classic rock and roll, I suggest you get acquainted with my first wiki project. If successful, it is planned to create similar pages for Little Richard, Carl Perkins, Charlie Rich, Larry Williams, Jerry Lee Lewis, Esquerita... I apologize for my poor English and would be very grateful for any corrections and improvements to the style, as well as suggestions for improving the structure of the page. Cheers and rock on!

Nomination for deletion of Template:MW 1935[edit]

Template:MW 1935 has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Wikiacc () 22:49, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Van Dyke Records has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources tag for a decade, no sources since creation in 2003. I see a paragraph or so in a very small number of very specialised publications, but probably not enough to meet WP:ORG or to get this beyond a stub.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Now's the time, if you've been sitting on secret sources for this article.... EddieHugh (talk) 20:56, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, @EddieHugh:, I have sources for this. Would you mind sending me the "specialty publications" you found, just in case you've got something I don't? Infrogmation, you got anything? Thanks! 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 22:24, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just the ones from looking at google books. These were probably the ones I saw: [1] and [2]. I found only 1 mention in the books that I have, and that was a passing mention: nothing worth including. EddieHugh (talk) 16:45, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Those two books are known to me, and contain substantial information not found in the Google preview, therefore used. I also knew of some information in Record Research. There's an article in New Amberola Graphic, but unfortunately I'm unable to access it, and I doubt it's an issue I have. Google says it's in issues 138-179, somewhere. Great. Thanks Google. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 17:32, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for rescuing it with the sources that you have. Google's often not much use with those sorts of details; its 'publication' dates for books often look more likely to be the dates of the uploads to their servers. Anyway, I'll leave Infrogmation's talk page – thanks for hosting! EddieHugh (talk) 21:13, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just know that most images seen on websites won't fit these criteria - unless the website explicitly states a specific free license, assume it is under copyright. See Commons:Licensing for an overview. A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

New administrator activity requirement[edit]

The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.

Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:

  1. Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
  2. Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.
