Finale -> final

Hi, as I said, it could be better worded. In UKEng, "finale" is Italian (or French) and borrowed from opera or theatre to mean the closing sequence; "final" is usually reserved for sporting events, as in "Soccer Cup Final", the last match of the competition and isn't used here for TV series. It's a rare case where UK/USA use the same word. Easily confused, I agree. Cheers. --Rodhull andemu 23:22, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Lab Rats

Hello. Your removal of quotes from Lab Rats had the following edit summary:

"(Block quotes should be avoided, as NPOV is hard to maintain - 'reception' should, as with the rest of the article, be prose.)"

That's nonsensical and does not accord with any Wikipedia policies I'm aware of (please place a link ~~my talk page~~ over at Talk:Lab Rats if you know better).

As far as I'm aware blockquotes are to be used when substantive amounts of text are being quoted (that is, more than a phrase or sentence). The issue of NPOV doesn't arise since quotes from the media are a matter of referenced/recorded fact. No user (unless they are the journalist themselves) can create these quotes of their own free will.

In any case: since your argument is that they should be in a different format (ie, "be prose") that's not a reason for you to remove them, rather merely to reformat. On that basis I'm reverting your removal. --bodnotbod (talk) 23:31, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: RTL open day

Hi! Thanks for your kind comments regarding the pictures I took at the Reading Transport open day. I probably did see you at one point but the wonders of the internet mean I don't know who you are! I thought it was a great day and a credit to everyone at Reading Buses. The highlight had to be the cavalcade at the end. BBC TV Centre

Thanks for your message. BECTU is the union for British broadcasting industry. The edits I made to the article on TVC referred to a section printed in the BECTU monthly newsletter. Reverting "Good Faith" edits

There are only three templates (one for Superman and two for Batman). How is three being "too much" for you!? What point is there to have Pinewood in the templates in the first place, if there's no where to place them afterwards? Besides, a majority of the Pinewood productions have seemed to have been in relation to the James Bond/EON films. TMC1982 (talk) 11:50 p.m., 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Pinewood has a tonne of productions, each of which could in theory have it's own template - it's just not sensible to have templates for these productions on the studio's page, because before long the page will be inundated with similar templates. By all means link to Pinewood in the template, but there is no need to place the template o nthe Pinewood page. Same goes for other studios. _Talk Islander 08:44, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

David Bergeron

I was about to turn down the speedy deletion request for David Bergeron because it seems to me that "NFL linebacker with the Carolina Panthers" is a clear assertion of notability. The article could certainly user more info, but it's been around for three years and was tagged as part of two WikiProjects. I'd rather see it go through AFD rather than speedy deletion if you think he's not a notable. Can you please reconsider your speedy deletion?Thanks. -- Ed (Edgar181) 20:53, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

The article does nothing to suggest why he's notable. "NFL linebacker with the Carolina Panthers" means nothing to me, and I can see you saying that this means that I personally shouldn't have deleted it, however, I disagree. If the article is notable, it should jump out to anyone, whether they know about the subject or not. John E. Pike/Temp deletion

I cut and pasted a copyrighted newsclipping posted on the subjects website (not his copyright) I then grouped the quotes by the subject, then grouped quotes about the subject, then began rewriting the general material, then added his press clippings with links to transcripts (which goes directly to notability)

If you wish to write this article, please do so from scratch - no borrowing text from anywhere else. List of CBBC programmes

Thanks for protecting List of BBC children's television programmes from what appears to be an ongoing orchestrated campaign of adding incorrect/deleting correct information from this list by anon IPs. No problem ;). A few weeks back, we had a problem with one particular IP going mental on all similar TV channel lists, so I blocked him. This time around, it seems to be a number of different IPs, thus it's easier to sprotect the article. _Talk Islander 23:06, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

I had noticed. I haven't decided whether to participate yet or not - I believe strongly that the images do satisfy the criteria for non-free images, but I'm in the minority, by a long shot. Protection request: Robert Falcon Scott

I notice that in view of its regular vandalism, Ernest Shackleton has been protected. Robert Falcon Scott suffers equally, and is now likely to be targetted even more. These are industry recognized exams like passing the Bar to become a lawyer or passing the CPA Examination to become certified public accountant. Since the majority of IT infrastructure in world involves Cisco network devices the majority of IT professionals must pass several exams to gain specific credentials that make it possible to work as an IT networking professional.

The most common exams are the 640-802 CCNA 640-822 ICND1 640-816 ICND2

Hello, sadly Randomran is unavailable by means other than his talk page and my message was intended to be read by him. As it happens, though, I was preparing a message to give to you. Firstly, as you may have gleaned, in my brief encounter with you, I found you to be condescending and lacking in understanding in Wikipedia's core policies and general academic English. I feel, from my brief encounter with you, that you are grossly untrustworthy as an administrator. However, there is little (as fair as I am aware) that I can do about this. I was simply interested in the specifics of how you became an administrator. As far as I hear, this is a flawed and difficult process; even then, all the the administrators I have come across seem to exceptionally trustworthy and knowledgeable. I assumed you would have no qualms about defending your adminship, as you have done; please don't take offence. I do not think I have made a mountain of a molehill, sorry; I was indeed intending to contact you directly, as I have explained above, I am just getting round to it, sorry. Finally, I thought my facetiousness was fairly obvious, but if not, no worries; my meaning was the same.
