Can you provide a source for the edit you did in Harvey Milk: the new musical? I did a quick Google search and the only information reflected by the title provided is the 1984 film documentary. Your edits to film articles

Some of the things you are doing in your edits to film articles go against established guidelines. Please ensure you rectify this so as not to waste your time or other editors' time.

• Note that Infobox Film has been renamed to Infobox film (with a lower case "f"). It really doesn't matter if it uses the upper case or lower case F, but changing it from lower to upper may be frowned upon.
• Do not use image_size. This should only ever be used in the rare case that the original image size is lower than 200px.
• Release dates - see WP:FilmRelease
• Only the primary languages are listed in the infobox. IMDb lists all the languages, so it it should not be blindly copied.
• Do not add user ratings from sites such as IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, etc. as they are vulnerable to vote stacking and demographic skew.
• The name of the Allmovie template is {{amg movie}} not {{amg title}}. Do not change it from right to less correct.
• Do not remove the DEFAULTSORT key from articles, they are required for proper categorization.

Kung Fu Hustle

Hi, can you check back on Kung Fu Hustle really quick? I think your edits may generally be a good idea, but not for a foreign film (produced in Hong Kong).

Specifically:

• Release dates: I think all of them belong. Canada is the first release, China is the home country, and the US and UK are "majority English-speaking countries" (WP:FilmRelease).
• Distributors: Home territory definitely belongs.
• Languages: When there are multiple languages, they need to be wikilinked manually (Template:Infobox Film).
• Dates should conform to the article, which uses "4 July 1776" format.
• "US$" may seem obvious, but it's necessary to distinguish from the HK$ of its home territory. I'm not sure I'd agree with removing the "$" link in any article, since Wikipedia is global and a number of countries use the dollar.

I've reverted the changes above, but I'm not really familiar with the film guidelines, so let me know what you think. Best, Pslide (talk) 00:19, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Zombieland, and your formatting of film articles

Some of your formatting of film articles here is "off." For example, the release dates of every country the film was released in should be in the infobox, not one date (the American one) in the infobox as if that is the film's universal release date. One example of all the release dates being used is the featured Transformers (film) article. Thus, I am not sure why you removed all the release dates from the Zombieland article, but I advise you against this. Additionally, Columbus's rules are a theme in Zombieland, and should be under the title Themes (especially since the Themes section may be expanded with other stuff later), not as a subsection of the Plot section. We generally do not have subsections of film plot sections here. I reverted these two edits by you to the Zombieland article. Flyer22 (talk) 20:18, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

I never said you were, and you took care of those, so I don't care. (Also, I haven't seen the film yet, so I am avoiding the Plot/Cast/Rules sections, especially to avoid the secret cameo appearance.) And as for Transformers, well, you'll have to aim for a consensus at the Infobox Template's Discussion page, because this is the American Wikipedia and it's an American film. Wristcutters: A Love Story

Hey, Climb, just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your updates, which were very helpful (although I might add Tom Waits and Will Arnett back into the infobox, as they are notable). The only two issues were the distributor (LionsGate handled only the DVD, so it's in the article instead) and the release date (I knew this was wrong, because I remember seeing it for the second time in October--first time as a screener...fucking love this movie, FYI). Per guidelines, the infoboxes should have generally no more than two dates (if American):

1) IF it made a premiere at a festival, that should be the first date, in addition to the second date below; 2) OR just the *first* American release date, in which the limited date takes precedence over the wide release. We can factor the wide release date into the intro of the article instead.

"Mins." vs. "Minutes" in film infoboxes

Since there's plenty of room in film infoboxes for the full word "minutes", there's really no good reason to change it to "mins.", as I believe you've done a number of times. Also, why delete the country connected to a release date? Films gets released on different dates in different countries, and it's customary to indicate what release date is being referred to. Thanks. Infobox changes

I have reverted your changes to the One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Princess and the Frog, and several other film articles as the changes you made introduced incorrect formatting and changes to the infobox, and in the case of the first two, undid some clean up work that had been done on the article, and inappropriately removed valid tags on articles. Please take a few moments to read the Template:Infobox film documentation so you can learn how the template is used. For example, the release date is supposed to use the {{start date}} template, and should only be the first release, not one for several countries. Flags are not used in infoboxes anymore, and the year in the lead should not be linked using the {{fy}} templates.
