Espanola[edit]

Thanks for your recent correction at Española, New Mexico. If you put something, anything, on your user page then your name will appear in blue rather than in red, giving you 31% more respect among many other editors. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 16:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Try putting a "." on your user page. Watch the color change. I might get involved more in Española, my last picture was removed, but I can probably do better. Nice to meet you. Carptrash (talk) 14:39, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yea I will. And sounds great, that picture about Obama? I meant pictures of the city, I uploaded historical photo's just recently to add to the history. Nice to meet you as well. JHarrelson (talk) 19:50, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I lost the Obama argument, for good reasons, I'm sure, but will look around for the right shot. I notice that one of the historical pictures has a "copyright 2005" on it. We'll see how that plays here. Carptrash (talk) 19:53, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds great, And which picture? most are protected by that copyright expiration of 1923. They are historic images they shouldn't. JHarrelson (talk) 20:12, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you click on the "The depot in Downtown Española" picture and then click on the source you get to a picture that someone is claiming to have copyrighted. Just claiming it don't make it so, but other things might. Or not. I am not suggesting that it be removed. Just pointing this out Carptrash (talk) 20:51, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

True, but the pictures taken before 1923 have copyright expirations. So i'm sure it will not be a problem. The website can not claim copyright to a photo that has been taken before 1923. See the licence, it can be challenged though. JHarrelson (talk) 20:58, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am wondering why[edit]

you thought it was okay to change the name of the city to Espanola without engaging in any discussion about it? The city's own website calls itself Española. The Rio Grande Sun, the local newspaper calles it Española. All the road signs around here spell it Española. The federal govt. probably never uses an ñ. I urge you to revert your redirect and post something on the discussion page. As was done in 2009. Carptrash (talk) 00:15, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because the United States Census refers Espanola, as Espanola. It is listed as "Espanola" on every government source. The discussion held previously had more for Espanola, than Española. Locals refer to it as Española, but everyone always can't have their way. I'm just doing what is right for this site. JHarrelson (talk) 03:08, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved our discussion over to the Espanola, New Mexico talk page so that others can, if they wish, take part in the discussion. Please check it out to see if I included everything. Carptrash (talk) 16:18, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Espanola[edit]

Never, ever, ever move an article by copying and pasting. We have a MOVE button at the top of the screen for a reason. If for some reason you are unable to move the article (because of an edit, in this case), you get an admin to move it. Period. There are no exceptions to this rule. --Golbez (talk) 12:30, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you look at your edits you made after copying and pasting it and move those back over to the main version; otherwise, they will either be lost in the event of an actual move, or someone will have to go through the annoying process of a history merge. And that you start the requested move process. --Golbez (talk) 12:36, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I thought you were an "admin"? JHarrelson (talk) 13:43, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am, and I disagree with the original move, but it was not without merit. There has to be a wider discussion on it before moving. --Golbez (talk) 14:50, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Says the guy who wanted it moved back..... aye aye aye! JHarrelson (talk) 16:31, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As I said - his move was not without merit. I disagree with it, but I'd rather not do an admin-only move in the situation without a wider discussion. Also, I'm annoyed at the copy-paste move. --Golbez (talk) 21:31, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well it already happened, don't stress over it. Life goes on, as they say. JHarrelson (talk) 02:59, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove {{pp-semi-protected}} or Category:Semi-protected redirects from articles, as you did with Espanola, New Mexico here and Española, New Mexico here and here. As you have no doubt discovered, removing those does not magically allow you to override administrators' protection of pages. It does, however, present a challenge to editors who are trying to assume good faith. --Closeapple (talk) 14:27, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:NMRX Sandia.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NMRX Sandia.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:07, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
