April 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District, from its old location at User:Jack Fangles/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Sulfurboy (talk) 16:33, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Style guide for NRHP articles[edit]

Hi, I noticed Draft:Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District and thought you might find the resources at Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places/Style guide helpful. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 20:50, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You might also find it helpful to look at similar articles; check out the table at National Register of Historic Places listings in Los Angeles. Schazjmd (talk) 21:02, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I just saw your note on my talk page. It's easiest to respond to other editors in the place where they "wrote" to you; in this case, right here on your Talk page. Also, just a tip: whenever you comment on a talk page (or anywhere really except in an actual Wikipedia article), be sure to sign your comment by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comment. The four tildes automatically insert your signature and timestamp at the end. Schazjmd (talk) 21:04, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Jack Fangles (talk) 21:12, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You did it right! Schazjmd (talk) 21:13, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, I know how daunting it can all be in the beginning. Please feel free to ask me (here or on my Talk page) if you have any questions. I've done a number of NRHP articles, they're fun. Schazjmd (talk) 22:06, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Would this be an acceptable source to cite? https://www.hollywoodheritage.org/on-the-boulevard Jack Fangles (talk) 01:37, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. You'll also get a lot of details from the NRHP nomination form and the book that Cullen linked you to. I set up two sections in the draft, Description and History. In the description section, you can provide the architectural details of what is included in the historic district. Then in the history section, you can tell the story about how the district came about and why it's important historically. Just be careful to write everything in your own words except for when you're adding a direct quote. Schazjmd (talk) 14:23, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
