I'm fairly sure the information you added is not about the actual franchise "Splinter Cell" but actually about an entirely different movie that happened to be called "Splinter Cell." The name change was probably made because they later found out that there already was a Splinter Cell movie / franchise. None of the details in that Variety article make any sense as the writers they refer to are not nor never were to my knowledge working on Splinter Cell. K1Bond007 18:21, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
