inauguration-related portraits?[edit]

Hello James, I found some helpdocs at WP:Requested_pictures which led me to your name. This tool suggests you are around an hour's drive from DC,[1] if that is incorrect or too far or whatever, then please disregard this request, of course! There are some photos which wikipedia is missing, and if you going to be in the DC area during January 2017, perhaps you can help out with being the photographer for some of them? Specifically, Cabinet of Donald Trump and Political appointments of Donald Trump are both missing some key high-quality portraits.



These are just the known knowns, there will also be many other appointees to federal roles (several thousand), and most likely the contenders and hopefuls will be at the inauguration-related festivities. In addition to portrait-photos of specific personnel, there will also be opportunity to get some final pictures for use within Presidential transition of Donald Trump, some event-related pictures for Inauguration of Donald Trump, and the initial pictures for First 100 days of Donald Trump's presidency and also Presidency of Donald Trump. Likely to be a lot of dignitaries in DC, ambassadors and the like, so there would be opportunity to upgrade/update plenty of other articles as well. Sorry, I saw this but could not make it to D.C. that day. I am more able to get photos that do not have a specific date If I have to travel. I also work full time and photography is a hobby. I am glad to take photos without a deadline or specific timeframe. I will try to update my photography page.

2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
