Returning to this, I've consulted a recent edition of Mischel's personality textbook, and it looks like this is not the source. (It's possible that it is from an earlier edition, but also likely that I am simply misremembering.)

I have, however, found an online source with nearly identical wording, so this extended quote is probably not appropriate for wikipedia, unless wikipedia is the source of this post, see: http://tipstrickcheat.blogspot.com/2009/01/philosophical-assumptions.html

I have found a similar treatment online, so this could perhaps be another source if people want to keep a section like this: http://webspace.ship.edu/cgboer/persintro.html (The phrasing is different, and there are a few additional dimensions.) Carleton Wikipedia course

Hi Professor Zelenski. I'm a third year undergraduate Carleton student. Nikkimaria pointed out your online course in the forthcoming semester to me, and I've applied to be an On-Campus Ambassador through the Wikimedia Foundation. I've made numerous contributions to Wikipedia and have been involved in the creation of four Featured Articles (though none in Psychology) over the course of five years. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself to you in the event that the Foundation accepts my application; and in the slight chance that they do not, I would still be willing to assist you and your class on an informal basis if needed. Hi Professor. The Foundation replied to my application with a form to fill out and email back. Once I've done that I should know within a few days if my candidacy is accepted. My first full day back in Ottawa is the third, so I'll be able to meet with you at any point from that day on. My Carleton email is matkin@connect. I can also be reached at my hotmail address through my userpage. If you go there and click on Toolbox at the side, one option that points up should be "E-mail this user" (though if I remember right, emails via Wikipedia are text only). Class Project

Hi Jayzee: Thanks for the feedback. I am leaning towards the epigenetics article - as applied to personality. My only major concern with this topic (and most of the ones I have posted on my talk page) is being able to find enough articles relevant to personality to expand the subject into 12 pages of text. So, I am wondering if you would find acceptable - for an epigenetics article, for example - a section on a historical background, a section on epigenetics as related to psychology and behaviour, and a section on personality. Hopefully, the section on personality would be the largest section of them all - encompassing at least 50% of the total text. If you do not think this is feasible, I am also open to writing 2 smaller articles - or switching subjects, alltogether (i.e., to subjects not currently posted on my talk page). Hello again Jayzee: I am considering the "did you know nomination" for my article once I transfer from the sandbox onto a new main page article. I am wondering if you could take a look at my article in the meantime and let me know what you think about this. I am in no rush, so I will also bring a hard copy printout to class on Friday for you. Also, When I "convert" my article to APA format it is 4 full pages (as of Feb 29, 2012), but I recall that the required length should be 12 pages - so, maybe it is sill too preliminary?Owleye769 (talk) 02:24, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jayzee: Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the author's names in the citation (i.e., like APA format) in the main body of the text - I plan to edit these out for the final draft and just use Wikipedia-style "number" references. I used some of the number formats in earlier sections - but I found the addition of syntax too cumbersome to allow for editing of the main article. So, I plan to eventually adapt to Wikipedia style for citation formatting.Owleye769 (talk) 16:52, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Misspellings

Hi there, it probably was not your intention, but your most recent edit to extraversion and introversion introduced many misspellings into the article, e.g. "extravts" and "extravsion" appeared in dozens of places. I've corrected these. Please be a little more careful in proofreading your edits, which otherwise seem to be constructive. --Smcg8374 (talk) 02:23, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
