October 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm CAPTAIN RAJU. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Shivaay have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. CAPTAIN RAJU () 18:10, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CAPTAIN RAJU! I'm trying to understand Wikipedia, but I don't know what's wrong with this edit. I reverted it because the runtime was changed without a proper source. Also, with this, I only resized the poster to its correct size. Post my edit, the poster makes the film entry consistent with other films here on English Wikipedia. Hope you'll clarify these. I have just read up on this, and would appreciate if you follow it. Thanks. Jean Stair (talk) 18:40, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"To release"[edit]

Hi there, re: this, a film does not release anything. A film may "be released", a film may be "scheduled for release", but I'm pretty sure a film, in proper encyclopedic tone, does not "release". Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:06, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. But, does not "...the film is scheduled to release tomorrow..." also make sense? Where "the film" is a subject and "release" an acting verb? I'm just curious as to the ways in which we can construct the sentence. This example sentence does read like the film is releasing tomorrow contrary to the film releasing something. What do you think? Jean Stair (talk) 15:46, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Content on Reliance[edit]

Please tell me how to provide proper content Pgangwani35 (talk) 17:55, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have to provide sources for each statement you add on Wikipedia. Refer WP:Citing sources for more info. Best, Jean Stair (talk) 19:04, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Isha Ambani have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Materialscientist (talk) 02:47, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Materialscientist. That was a tiny mistake due to Twinkle. I was actually trying to revert both edits, but I was more concentrating on reporting the user. Thanks, Jean Stair (talk) 02:52, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hello (company) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Paste Let’s have a chat. 09:15, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Paste. I was debating whether I should create an article for this. It definitely passes WP:GNG. Although, I will scrounge the web for more articles that can add up to its credibility. Thanks for reviewing it. Jean Stair (talk) 09:25, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think my concern now is that the product seems more notable than the company? All the refs relate to the product. Paste Let’s have a chat. 10:06, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Exactly my thought. I think I will give it a day or two and then migrate the article into "Hello Sense". Suggestions? Jean Stair (talk) 10:08, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi Jean Stair. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! -- samtar talk or stalk 13:51, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Samtar. Jean Stair (talk) 13:53, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy deletion nomination of Arthi Venkatesh[edit]

Hello Jean Stair. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Arthi Venkatesh under CSD TWO-LETTER CSD CODE. That criterion did not apply because even though the article's prose did not appear to indicate "importance or significance", it contained citations to apparent secondary sources that are commonly recognized as reliable. This is implicitly considered to meet the "importance or significance" indication standard, because the existence of such sources (discussing the subject in detail) is a chief basis we use to assess whether a topic meets the higher standard of notability, on the merits at a discussion process such as AfD. Appable (talk | contributions) 06:42, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry. I thought the article did merit A7. I'll AfD it. Thanks, Jean Stair (talk) 06:45, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of unsolicited advice, if you don't mind[edit]

Perhaps you should take to looking at the page history before nominating an article for any form of deletion. If I've moved the page anywhere, it's likely Twinkle will think I'm the author. It appears as though people have been persisting in writing articles in mainspace after I've moved them into draftspace. -- I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 13:01, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@I dream of horses: I agree, but is there a solution for this? I mean, to let Twinkle know who the real author is? We should try find one. Jean Stair (talk) 14:49, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly have no idea. It might be something that software (or, more broadly, non-humans) can't really figure out yet.
I guess one could go to the Twinkle talk page and ask, though. (Update:  Done here, for anyone interested) -- I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 02:24, 19 December 2016 (UTC) (added {{done}} at 03:11, 19 December 2016 (UTC))[reply]
@I dream of horses: Thanks for starting the topic there. Let's see if experts on the topic can find a solution. :) Jean Stair (talk) 07:31, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
