A tag has been placed on LaRue County High School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mbisanz 03:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

since it has won athletic championships, it is possibly notable. But the article says so little, that it is really a problem keeping it in Wikipedia. Please add some further information at least: what is the school district, how many students & teachers, when was it founded, when were the championships. And are there any references to them in local papers. Did anyone go on to become a notable professional wrestler? Or are they any other notable alumni? Any librarian can help you find sources for some of this. DGG (talk) 23:09, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Re: KSCAA deletion[edit]

Hello – thanks for the message. I'll walk you through what happened.

The KCSAA page was one of three identical articles you created on the same subject; the other two were Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association and KCSAA (Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association. Wikipedia doesn't take duplicate articles, and certainly not triplicate articles. So, while they were all still articles, two of them were changed to redirects to Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association, so we would have one article instead of three. Redirects are used all the time – as an example, see Homeschool, which redirects to Homeschooling.

Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association, the page that remained an article, was speedy deleted by administrator Anthony Appleyard on October 25 under WP:CSD#A7, as an article that did not make any assertion of notability. In other words, saying that the group exists isn't sufficient. You have to say why they belong in the encyclopedia, and your article didn't do that. Admins have access to the deleted text, so I checked it to be sure, and Anthony was correct in his deletion of the article under CSD#A7.

Since the main article no longer exists, that made the two redirects to the now non-existent article, KCSAA and KCSAA (Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association, unnecessary and eligible for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#R1. I was the admin who deleted the two redirects.

If you decide to recreate these articles, you need to show why it's a notable organization by using verifiable, reliable sources as references. If you don't, it's going to be deleted again, because that's the way Wikipedia works. Articles that are recreated over and over again without any references or sources can be protected from recreation.

I can provide the text of the deleted article to you in your user space, so you can improve it. If you would like me to do that or if you have more questions, let me know. Thanks. - KrakatoaKatie 22:58, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jeremydoubleu/KCSAA[edit]

At your request, the content of KCSAA has been userfied at User:Jeremydoubleu/KCSAA.

You can work on the article at your convenience and improve it so it can pass the notability requirements for organizations. Do not add categories or templates to the article while it is in your user space.

Here is an example of a userfied article about a high school athletic association. Focus on the schools involved, sports played, and history of any championships awarded, instead of a list of the people running it. Take a look at the 'How to develop an article' section of WP:ARTICLE for guidance.

When you're done, let me know and I'll move it back to the mainspace as the full name of the organization. A redirect at KCSAA can then be created to the new article, but not yet – it will just get deleted again.

If you need help or have questions, just let me know. :-) - KrakatoaKatie 21:20, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
