What's up[edit]

That's the standard boilerplate welcome, hopefully if you have any questions those links can help you out. Thanks for your contributions and especially for creating the page Tom McCarthy (ice hockey b. 1934). I happened to come across it by accident not too long after you made it and thought I'd help out by expanding it. Let me know if you have any questions. I just have one question. Do you know how tall my grampa Tom was? Jet556

The Internet Hockey Database and Hockey-Reference.com both list his height as 6'1" Rejectwater (talk) 23:30, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of A Tale of Egypt[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article A Tale of Egypt, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of A Tale of Egypt[edit]

I have nominated A Tale of Egypt, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A Tale of Egypt. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. The article Beadle Bamford has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a notable character

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. September 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dogmaticeclectic. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Detentionaire without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! February 2014[edit]

Information icon Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Detentionaire has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. Thank you. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 16:08, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Detentionaire, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 16:14, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

August 2014[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to List of Detentionaire episodes, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 19:39, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Revert of your edit on "Shooting of Michael Brown"[edit]

I've reverted your edit to Shooting of Michael Brown. While I'm not familiar with the details of the case—I was in fact reading about it to become more informed—I could still tell that your edit was inappropriate. Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy means that Wikipedia should not be making interpretations or accusations like "in cold blood" or "lied". We can document what other sources are saying, but it's not Wikipedia's place to pass judgement like that. If you contribute more to the page, please keep that in mind. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 23:21, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:BLP as well, not only does it apply to article space, but it is applicable to talk pages and edit summaries. Isaidnoway (talk) 23:44, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

November 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to The Phantom of the Opera does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks!
