Dear Mr. McCauley: I made some comments on Talk:Rational expectations explaining why I deleted the section you added to Rational expectations. Basically my point is that 'equilibrium', like many words, has more than one meaning. Most economists today, following Nash, use 'equilibrium' to mean mutual consistency between the actions of several agents. That's what economists mean when they talk about rational expectations equilibrium. Of course, that is a different from the way the word is used in statistical physics.
