Hi JoeNMLC,

Please be careful with editing templates, you added a second state parameter. I've removed it now - RichT|C|E-Mail 19:13, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

@Rich Smith: - Yes, I see that it shows "state" of Illinois. Wondering how to add |state = {{{state|autocollapse}}} so that the navbox can collapse? JoeNMLC (talk) 20:08, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Do it where the template is called, like {{Wikipedia template messages|state=collapsed}} I see you tried that... not sure then... I've added the Help Me template to this thread so other editors who may know better than me can assist - RichT|C|E-Mail 20:12, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
@Rich Smith and JoeNMLC: Hi, your friendly local techie here :) The problem here was that the template was just transcluding a template lower down the "tree", so to speak, without passing any parameters you set on down there - so the underlying template for that box didn't know about the collapse template set on this specific type of box. I've added the relevant parameter to this box template now, and passed it through to the lower level - so, long story short, it's working! Naypta ☺ | ✉ talk page | 20:38, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
@Rich Smith: - Thanks. Way beyond I could have ever figured out. Changed one more article & this solution works Ok. Cheers! JoeNMLC (talk) 20:53, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
