Changes to JohnBoy Smith[edit]

Here is the question asked by you on my talkpage - "I would like to know why you are deleting content from my Wikipedia page". Here is the direct link for the same: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Adamsamuelwilson#Johnboy_smith_wiki_page.

Here is the reply for the same:

Hi Johnboy198920!. You are right. Although Wikipedia is a free and open website, it is not a place for self-promotion (see WP:NOTABOUTYOU). All the edits you are making to the page could be facts and could be true, but they are not sourced from independent and reliable media sources, which is one of the most basic and important requirements for adding any information to the articles (WP:GNG). Lines added by you are either self-promotional ("he also made history as the first ever Romany Paralympic athlete") or unencyclopedic ("At age 9 he joined St Mary’s ABC in Chatham, Kent. He claims his earliest childhood memory is putting on boxing gloves with his father."). Moreover, your username suggests that you have a strong COI with the subject (see, WP:COI) or most probably you are the subject itself (WP:COISELF) as you asked me above "why you are deleting content from my Wikipedia page".
Please take this as a warning, and refrain from editing the article. You can only "suggest" changes to the article by posting about it on the TALK page of the article, under a new section, and providing reliable news sources for the same change. If the change information is relevant and comes from a reliable and independent news source, a Wikipedia editor would certainly approve and add that to the page, by keeping other wiki guidelines as well in mind. If you continue to edit the page on your own, I will have to escalate the case to a senior member of Wikipedia, which would most probably lead to the blockage of your account for editing on Wikipedia. Hi Johnboy198920!. I have added your Romany descent to the Wikipedia page, for which I could only find one good source - KentLive. However, "first Romany Para-olympian" claim couldn't still be verified. Only one reference mentions it on Google, which is an unreliable reference as per Wikipedia guidelines. A note on conflict of interest[edit]

Hey, Johnboy198920. Per Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline, you are not permitted to directly edit an article of which you are the subject. You are welcome and are encouraged, however, to engage the article talk page (Talk:Johnboy Smith), which has never been used before by anyone, with any proposals, corrections, concerns, and so on. Please don't hesitate to drop me a line (User_talk:El_C) if you have any questions. Thanks and good luck! El_C 18:58, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

British record[edit]

Could my breaking the British record on 19/6/2022 be added to my wiki page? Beings as I cannot do it myself? I can provide more details if possible 77.241.232.4 (talk) 15:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
