Jim Lord

An interesting note: according to his obituary, he and Al Gore served together as U.S. Senate pages and as teenagers agreed that should either of them become President, he would appoint the other attorney general. If you are interested in the State Treasurers of Minnesota (and who wouldn't be?), check out Val Bjornson. He was a fascinating man. Could anyone imagine Norm Coleman and Al Franken traveling Minnesota together in the same car? Bjornson and H.H. Humphrey did, as rivals for the same office half a century earlier. I did meet and talk to Walter Judd-he gave a talk in Rochester, Minnesota and we had a nice talk about the FDR administration and the UN. Another person from Minnesota I meet and talk to was Paul Wellstone. I was with some friends at a dinner at a Roman Catholic church in La Crescent, Minnesota and Senator and Mrs. Wellstone were there too. Great job with Winona pics

Great job with getting high quality images for the National Register of Historic Places listings in Winona County, Minnesota (especially Winona)! I came to upload what I had just to see that you had uploaded nearly the entire list. None of my images appear to be taken from that one remaining historic district. I did take about 4 more pictures of the same buildings. They were equal or poorer except for the one picture that I uploaded. Red River Trails

I contend based on this research that the song DOES have roots in my area. I write a local history blog about Pembina (ND) and St. Vincent (MN), twin towns on the Red River of the North at http://56755.blogspot.com and the history of that area is a passion of mine...I hope you'll consider adding that in regarding the song on that page, and any page that may be about the song itself...

Tobias Mealey

I had into a problem with the article Tobias Mealey who served in both houses of the Minnesota State Legislature. The original article was titled Tobias Hogan and it needed citations. I check the Minnesota Legislature about past legislators and found no Tobias Hogan. Tobias Mealey was listed for that time frame so I change it to Tobias Mealey. Senator Mealey and his wife owned a house in Minnesota that is historic. Would you please look at the article? Tobias Mealey may had been one of the important Minnesota legislators in the 19th century. Thank you-RFD (talk) 18:58, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh and the reason I included the vegemite link in the fruit-bacon article is because "Rationed in Australia during World War II, Vegemite was included in Australian Army rations and by the late 1940s was used in nine out of ten Australian homes." I appreciate the incorporation of my image contributions in the body of the article, but I really don't feel like the one at the top is the best choice. Talk page contributions

Removing even part of a talk page contribution is far from being mere "refactoring". Removing substantially all of a contribution completely denies the responses their context. People do not continue to "own" their comments after hitting "save", especially when others have already responded to them. -Rrius (talk) 03:49, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

The thread, in toto, was archived. My edit was not disruptive. If you would bother to read, what Jessemackay did is not okay, so I restored it. You were wrong to revert me. It is really as simple as that. Help and suggestions on Mill City Museum

I was wondering if you had any help or suggestions for moving Wkaardal's Mill City Museum page from draft to live? I am watching it with interest and see that it has been rejected by a Wikipedia admin opting instead to continue having Mill City Museum on the Washburn A Mill page. Would it be considered to close to home (working for MHS) if I worked on it to get it published?

I think it's a good draft and should be published somewhere. I also think your help would be great, and not an issue. The issue on the move, I think, was whether there should be one article or two. Until there is enough material for two good articles, my preference would be to have one really good article under the title Mill City Museum, with Washburn A Mill redirecting there. The Washburn A Mill article information has been merged into the draftarticleonmillcitymuseum article. Question: what happens now? Image q

I found out the pictures at the GMA awards were taken by Aaron Crisler/Gospel Music Association. I know at least one image was shown on live TV, and that qualifies as fair use, and can be shown here. Regarding your choice of image on the Helen Thomas page; while I'd agree it was wise to replace the old image with a more recent one, I think the image you've chosen is uniquely unflattering. Is it possible we could find a replacement?

No, not really anything to do with that, although being at the time generally jaded there were a couple of things about the conversation that didn't make me any happier, but absolutely nothing you did or said. On reflection, and after reading a few messages I got, I decided retiring was a bit of an over the top, silly reaction, so I'm going to just cut back a bit on the time I spend here instead, and see how that goes.
