Deleting content from Metanexus Institute[edit]

Actually, I did the research already, and this [1] supported the content that you deleted twice, and I've restored. Please read the supporting links before deleting something as unsupported. If you still have a problem with the content, make your case on the talk page first please. FeloniousMonk 17:19, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to check your sources then. "Issuers of news releases and not PR Newswire are solely responsible for the accuracy of the content," your article clearly states. In lay terms, the site can not guarantee the accuracy of the information portrayed. And since this page has multiple inaccuracies, you need to find another source or your content is unsupported. Please read the fine print and backup your sources.

Um, the press release was issued by the Metanexus Institute. PRnewswire only carried it. Metanexus is responsible for the accuracy of the content, and baring any official retraction that you can produce, its veracity stands. Please become familiar with WP:RS and WP:CITE. Actually the press release 'sourced' Metanexus.net - this does not mean the organization wrote the article. It is highly unlikely the organization would release inaccurate information on itself, information that counters what they publish on their own website. Since you can site no verifiable articles supporting your information, it is obvious you are using Wikipedia for personal vendettas against a non-profit organization you chose not to like. Shame on you for abusing a website purposed to share factual articles.

How do you know the information contained in the press release (which indeed was issued by Metanexus) is inaccurate? Is the basis for this knowledge something you can share with us? Per our policy, WP:CITE, cite your source. Barring a retraction of the or disavowal of the press release from Metanexus, the cite stands as a perfectly valid source per WP:V and WP:RS.
Also, please do not make personal attacks in your edit summary comments, see WP:NPA. FeloniousMonk 04:15, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Metanexus discussion page, the article claimed as a Metanexus Institute press release does not include contact information and is sourced as 'Metanexus.net' and not 'Metanexus Institute'. Therefore again it is doubtful the information was released by Metanexus Institute, and how can they retract a statement they did not release. Valid releases from the Institue contain direct contact names.

Hmmm, a domain lookup for 'metanexus.net' shows it's registered to William Grassie founder of the Metanexus Institute, and its administrative contact has a Metanexus Institute email address and lists the institute's physical address [2]. Meaning the press release is clearly referring to Metanexus Institute and it's veracity is not in any way in doubt.
I'd like to think that you and your associated anon IP addresses are not trying to bowdlerize the article. So please don't delete well-supported content or continue to raise specious objections, it's disruptive to the functioning of Wikipedia. Please think about contributing to the project in other ways. I do not understand your 'anon IP addresses' claim. Is it surprising that multiple people might edit a page in attempt to provide correct information? This organization does international work, more then two people know of its existence. Again you have not provided addition articles supporting your Counterbalance funding claim, so I can only assume you have none. I'm sure when you actually research their funding, which you have proposed, you can then also attempt to post the correct information.
