Welcome![edit]

Hello, Kaileypearce, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was needtobreathe, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! NEEDTOBREATHE questions[edit]

Hi Walter!

I understand that I might be a conflict of interest, however we want to note that NEEDTOBREATHE is objectively an American rock band. Yes, they've had success in the Christian Music market, but the music they create is under the broader "rock" umbrella. Their latest album H A R D L O V E debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Albums, Top Current Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts and #2 on the Billboard 200 as a rock album. I can give you multiple references of the band describing themselves as a rock band vs. Christian band, if that would be of assistance?

Let me know how I can go about getting that updated on their Wikipedia page?

Please ping Walter Görlitz when you wish to get his attention. If you can find a reliable reference, adding it to the article will be uncontroversial.--Launchballer 21:14, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Launchballer: didn't have to ping me, Kaileypearce left a message on my talk page which I reverted and then pointed out that as an agent for the band, is in a conflict of interest. This discussion should not be happening here as well, it should be on the band's talk page.
They are notable first and foremost as a Christian rock band. That they have crossover success is secondary as they have recieved, and will continue receive greater accolades in the Christian music industry than they will in mainstream. They may have hit No. 2 on the 200, but those sales left them at No. 1 on the Christian chart. See what I mean? Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:38, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Walter, Walter Görlitz (talk) Should I redirect our conversation to their page? I wanted to point out a few different sources as not only does the band consider themselves to be a rock band, as well as their label Atlantic Records [1] (please note language in the press releases sent via Atlantic) there are many credible media outlets that describe them so as well including Billboard [2], Rolling Stone [3], and AP (example pick up from Pocono Record shown here) [4] as well. Please also see the language in a new article and interview by the Charleston Post & Courier [5] where they are described as "southern rockers" and also discusses their influence and success in the Christian market.
