Ryan Giggs and Maxwell trophies

Hello Kante. I notcied that the Ryan Giggs article says that he is the most decorated footballer in history with most trophies won, however I can see that Maxwell has overtaken him, or am I wrong here? I could take it to the talk page, but since days can pass by without a reply, I thought I might point it out to you. I am basically asking for your help, because as I counted their trophies, I notced that Maxwell got more than Giggs. Thank you so much! :) Csknowitall (talk) 08:35, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Yeah I got surprised as well. The problem is, I am sure I will get reverted when I do it. I also don't really know if it all should be removed or just change it to one of the most decorated players. If you have the time, do you think you could do something about it? Csknowitall (talk) 08:46, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Can we get some input in resolving an edit dispute?

Hello Kante. I am hoping that you can lend some assistance. Me and user GiantSnowman need assistance in resolving an edit dispute concerning the kit section that was in the Nigerian national football team article. He removed it citing WP:NOTGALLERY. I disagree with his interpretation and I have shared my reasons on the talk page at WikiProject Football. We request the input of members of this project in order to resolve this issue. Your assistance would be appreciated if you have the time. Thanks! unak1978 16:22, 29 April 2017 (UTC)

Uhren Cup

No consensus was ever set because non was ever asked for, people in the Footy project just started running their own rules on honours way back, I am getting sick of WP:Footy these days. Govvy (talk) 11:29, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

That Dave guy says he doesn't edit war, yet I look through his history on his talk page and his contributions and see a different story, he removed Salah's honour, but that doesn't really annoy me, it's that I put citation down, it's the fact that he removed Runners up medals from FA Cup and League cup from players, I consider these major honours. Some of them even have citations, what I don't get, is that these small tournaments are on club page honours, but yet they are removed from player pages. Govvy (talk) 11:39, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

IIHF semifinals

Hey. Where does your info on ice hockey semifinals come from? And what's the point in deleting others' additions without comment? Ivan Volodin (talk) 13:45, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

It is trivia info which is removed after the games played. Kante4 (talk) 14:12, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
I'm not sure I understand you. As the article currently stands, it looks like the RUS/CZE-CAN/GER semifinal will be played at 19:15. But this has never been officially announced, and moreover, under the rules published it should be played at 15:15 if Canada defeat Germany. That's why I wanted to add an explanation from the official website. Please don't remove it unless you have a source. Ivan Volodin (talk) 14:31, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for deleting "WQF1" etc. At least now it is clear that nothing is clear:) (I'm not sure though that you are right in saying that whatever will be deleted in two days is not fit for a Wikipedia article). Ivan Volodin (talk) 15:13, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

17-18 Sharks

Why did you revert my work in the page? I cleaned it up to keep it looking like previous years and then you reverted it all back. It will be eventually changed to what I did anyway. So I'm curious as to why you did that. TaylorRoy (talk) 04:20, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Once again I'm asking why you have reverted my changes. I made the page the same format as the previous year and you changed it right back. I removed the 3 free agents lost seeing as how they should not be in that section. Those players are now UFAs of the team, so unless you plan on adding every single other one of their UFAs they should not be, however they should not be there regardless. By doing this you also reverted one of those players who have actually signed somewhere else. I'm going to redo my changes. Nanerz (talk) 22:09, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

That's what I thought. I mean, I know I rely a lot on UEFA's line-up graphics, which aren't always perfect, but I've never seen them put a left-back in central midfield like the German FA's site has! – PeeJay 14:15, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

No worries then. Didn't mean to step on any toes. – PeeJay 14:20, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
Ah, there's nothing much to them at all. As you've noticed, they're pretty simple to do, although a recent update to Inkscape has fucked with my new ones a bit. – PeeJay 14:33, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Gareth Bale Honours section

Hi, can you please tell me why you removed the 2016 UEFA Super cup from the honours section?

I am aware that he was not part of the match squad, but it is listed on his Real Madrid profile page[1] (scroll to bottom section), and he got the medal for it[2]. The UEFA Super Cup guidelines even stipulates that the winning team receives 40 medals to be distributed to all the players of the winning team[3] (please refer Article 9, Section 04). Tombstone5650 (talk) 17:14, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

— Can I open this up for discussion on Cristiano's page again? Because it seems like they are both "officially" considered to have won according to the references I cited. And these aren't just journalistic articles. Tombstone5650 (talk) 17:24, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

—— Gareth Bale posted a picture of himself with the medal, as shown in the second reference. What could be a better source for it? Tombstone5650 (talk) 17:50, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

——— Honestly, this is quite unjust in my opinion because although it doesn't change the truth, it affects perception. Anyway, I have moved this to the Cristiano talk page. Thanks. Tombstone5650 (talk) 18:34, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

———— I found an official UEFA page that has Bale on the squad list. And he has a picture with the medal. Can I add it to his honors now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tombstone5650 (talkcontribs) 20:39, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

About the consistency of revision guideline

Hi Kante, as the reason of your reverted of my edit on Cristano Ronaldo(revision 783942747) is "We don't include he youth club caps aswell." I'm roughly agree with what you proclaim if it is consistent. So, may I ask you to have a look on the page Lionel Messi? As what you see, I saw the youth record of Messi both at the club's section and the national team's section. For my edit of C. Ronaldo was base on Messi's format, why my edit need to be reverted and Messi's should stand still? Is that this is the exclusive format only for Messi's page? Thank you for your concerned and looking forward for your reply. (Hak-shing (talk) 17:32, 10 June 2017 (UTC))

Vandal

I am reverting this vandal (please here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/David_S%C3%A1nchez_Latorre) because: he is an idiot sock (look at what he has done to Luis Rubiales' article on several occasions, with several accounts), and also TWITTER and FBOOK pages are not encyclopedical additions.

Can you please help me revert him in the Real Madrid pages i don't edit in? Thanks, continue the good work from Portugal --Quite A Character (talk) 19:16, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

  • In Álvaro Morata's case, can you please tell me what wrong did i do to get reverted (you removed the fact that he did not need one single penalty to score 15 times in the league, i was actually praising him and it's sourced)? I would appreciate a reply, if you please. --Quite A Character (talk) 19:18, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

And i think it's important, but i'll take it to WP:FOOTY instead of reverting it without one word (a guy scoring that number of goals with no penalties is quite an achievement for a reserve, which of course he is fed up of being so he'll most likely leave, and Nacho too if he did not absolutely love Real Madrid like he seems to love). Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 20:16, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

  • Not to say that Benzema played poorly, but Morata surely was not worse. And Nacho really developped! And of the "less" known players, Carvajal is really something! --Quite A Character (talk) 10:20, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Cambridge United

Hi Kante4

You have twice deleted information on 2016–17 Cambridge United F.C. season giving different reasons each time for deletion, neither of which support what you are saying. if there has been a discussion and consensus reached elsewhere then please show me where this discussion is so I can understand the reasoning. If not, then please don't delete, thanks Footielad (talk) 09:51, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Assists

Fine to remove assists & flags for friendlies, but the butchering by BletheringScot is not on, complete mess into a GeoCities like template with coloured tables and what not.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015–16_Bengaluru_FC_season

For reference, an article with the same stats and sections. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyndigs (talkcontribs) 17:59, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

I just removed them from the 16-17 pages. Go ahead and remove them aswell. Kante4 (talk) 18:06, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
Kante4 just to let you know I wouldn't bother your breath. He has just reverted his fourth user today because he doesn't like consensus. He was against the removal of flags until about 10 minutes ago. For reference he isn't happy because I removed the tables from 2015–16 Bengaluru FC season despite him leading me too it on my talk page and other users agreeing with me on the talk page. Blethering Scot 18:18, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
I saw that. His time will be limited here if he continues to ignore all consensus. Kante4 (talk) 18:20, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
Im mildly entertaining him on my talk page for now. He is just digging a bigger hole really.Blethering Scot 18:25, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
See Here the table includes time on pitch which is the same as what Kyndigs has been peddling on the celtic page. Not sure whether I should remove or tag as totally unverifiable. Not really up to covering to the correct table format every time this comes up.Blethering Scot 18:28, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
Then remove the time on pitch part instead of bringing in that ancient template, simple as that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyndigs (talkcontribs) 18:57, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
And you start work with the consensus... Kante4 (talk) 19:01, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
What do you mean? The consensus consist of who? I see you posted one issue on the stats that was a consensus of 3 people, not really a good consensus, I am open to discuss certain things, the wiki policies we can fix, the other stats i am yet to see a reasonable argument for removing other than the 3 man consensus, i think they provide good insight in the article, and are not overkill like the ones you posted prior, the ones you posted were score matrix. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyndigs (talkcontribs) 19:09, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Clear concensus for every thing we spoke of. Either you work with that or not, if not your time is limited here. Just work with it and all is good. Kante4 (talk) 19:29, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

i don't agree with the consensus, the aspects you are against are not violating policy, wiki policy ones were removed, the rest you have no right to dictate as a small minority, clearly many disagree with it, as many articles include such sections, advise you get a proper consensus first, not a 2-3 person consensus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.92.120.246 (talk) 19:36, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

The table has now been removed; let me know if it gets re-added. GiantSnowman 07:00, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Super Cup

I don't think the reason is convincing. That guy (peejay) only repeated that there is no direct evidence shows that Ronaldo received the medal. I don't know what actually the evidence he wanted is. Both Real Madrid's website and third-party websites show that he has the honour, these are the good evidence. (For example, https://www.transfermarkt.com/cristiano-ronaldo/erfolge/spieler/8198, http://ca.soccerway.com/players/cristiano-ronaldo-dos-santos-aveiro/382/) It's not just photos on twitter could be evidence. 七战功成 07:19, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

It seems that you and that guy never give convincing reasons. I list RM's website, you said it's not a third party source. I list some third party sources, you said that it's not reliable. So if these are not reliable, what is reliable? Some others revert my edits doesn't mean anything, it only shows that somebody has the same thoughts with you, but it doesn't mean it's right. There are also people think Ronaldo has the honour. 七战功成 07:32, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

I will open the discussion afterwards, I don't have time now because I have other things to do. 七战功成 07:52, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Now starting to threaten others? While discussing the questions, did you give any legitimate arguments? Just said something like"We can't agree with you, It's the consensus?" and prevent others with peremptory attitude? 七战功成 18:36, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

Attendance at FIBA games

Hi, Kante4. About attendances, where do you get the official data at all FIBA games, e.g. this Women's EuroBasket. I can't get them at the boxscores. Asturkian (talk) 14:03, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Morata and honours

1 - i bet my left (the good one!) hand he is leaving, especially after seeing how they want to sign a wonderkid (Mbappé) that is really good but has yet to prove himself, what else does Morata need to do?! Ah, and Mbappé is French as the manager, enough said...

2 - i had a look at the discussion about the honours and Ronaldo in your page. Getting really tiresome, either they don't understand or act like they don't understand. And their efforts seem to focus on adding the honour to the mentioned player instead of the whole team. Tell you man, i am Portuguese, but i am SICK of the adulation this guy - and his entire family - gets, a scoring machine and the perfect athlete, but that's it.

Take care --Quite A Character (talk) 21:45, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

U20WC

Hey Kante

I know you are busy, but still I wanted to ask you about something I consider rather important about FIFA U-20 World Cup. Only if you have the time of course. Thank you. Csknowitall (talk) 14:34, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
Well. You know, Serbians insist that they ahve won 2 titles at the u20 WC, and they kept reverting other people back then, even without actual proof that FIFA consider them to be the inheritor of Yugoslavia's medal. Some FIFA articles stated it was Serbia's first title, some said it was not, which was why it was rather confusing for everyone. Now I have found the closest we can go to an official FIFA medal table, from FIFA's own website. As you can see here: http://www.fifa.com/fifa-tournaments/teams/index.html If look at see top teams for: you select FIFA U20 WC, one can clearly see that they only give 1 title to Serbia since they would otherwise be up there with an overall of 2. Everyone was saying that FIFA never had an official medal table, and that's right, this feature is new on their website, which is why I bring it up now. As I can see this is the closest we come to an official medal table. I am Danish myself, and have nothing against Serbia, but I just think it's becoming a big problem with Serbians going on all sports articles and change Yugoslavia medals to their own, even if more Croats actually played in the U20WC that Yugoslavia won. What is your thoughts on this? thank you so much! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csknowitall (talkcontribs) 14:44, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

See (this reversion performed not be me https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=F%C3%A1bio_Coentr%C3%A3o&diff=next&oldid=789176737)? I told you it was customary to write "who plays" in the players' introductions, i was not trying to waste your valuable time or anything.

Also, i never understood why you only left Coentrão's article in that state and left the "who plays" in all the others. OK now, all in the past. With respect, from Portugal --Quite A Character (talk) 23:26, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Messi record

Hey Kante, can you take a look at Lionel Messi continental records? someone made quite a lot of edits to it, and I am now confused if Only player to be top goalscorer in five UEFA Champions League seasons (2008–09 to 2011–12, 2014–15) can even be considered a record? when Cristiano already broke that record by being top scorer six times. Where is the barrier to what can be considered a record? Does this mean all the players who have been top scorer 4, 3, 2 and even 1 time should have it on their page as well? This is simply a question brought on by my curiosity. Also looks like it's written twice. could you take care of this if needed? thank you so much!Csknowitall (talk) 14:36, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you, mate :-) I think he also listed the record twice..Csknowitall (talk) 14:57, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
Yeah took some time for me to see it as well :S thank you for the quick replies :-) Csknowitall (talk) 15:03, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
Oh sorry, I didn't explain myself too good I guess, haha. You can see it on Messi page, I removed the duplicate. He basically wrote the Only player to be top goalscorer in five UEFA Champions League seasons (2008–09 to 2011–12, 2014–15) twice in the continental records section. You removed one, and I removed the other one. I hope it was done correctly.Csknowitall (talk) 15:12, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Arroyo de la Miel

Arroyo de la Miel is a municipaly that now belong to the Benalmádena distric but not always has been like that.

Benalmádena Costa has belong to Arroyo de la Miel municipality until in 2002 due to the large grown of this one it was decided to reunite the town of Arroyo de la Miel, the village of Benalmádena pueblo and the coastal area in one distric. Still today, the mayor services and gobernation are located in Arroyo de la Miel. At the time Isco born there was not division so its completely wrong to say that Francisco Alarcón born in Benalmadena. Still today a person born in Arroyo de la Miel have it noticed in his DNI. You just need to see Francisco Alarcón social media to see himself what is born place.

Att.

The link redicrect to Benalmadena becouse its TODAY the distric that belong Arroyo de la Miel so its kinda to say DDR born german its just German after the unification. Ok, I'll revert the changes until I found the proper documentation in English to not confound the people. Cheers

Hi, about your last edit in that article, I think it is good to clearly describe qualified teams' positions in final round (winners, runners-up, 3rd place, 4th place... rather than top 2, top 3, top 4...). In 2010 and 2014 qualification articles, we also mention their specific results. :) Centaur271188 (talk) 10:38, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Man of the match

Hey, I saw you reverting the "UEFA Super Cup man of the match" honours from Isco and Cristiano, but even Cristiano's page shows an "UCL Final MOTM". I just wondered how can that be right and the UEFA Super Cup not? Especially since one it's a award for a whole tournament, and the UCL is one match. Thanks.

The Sandman (talk) 03:13, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Done. And I was also wondering, FIFPro has been giving 2nd-5th team XIs for the past 4 years, you guys have thought of putting them on? That means on both Honours lists and in a article for each year of FIFPro World XI. I think it would be a nice way to honor players that been on 2nd team forever and don't get that "recognition" on their honours. Tks.
