Overlink is a Wikipedia wide guideline and applies to all articles, not just football, so unless there are specific topic-related guidelines that allow linking them they should be avoided. Kosack (talk) 08:03, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

NASL and OVERLINK

Two last things. First, it looks like you stated that you were going to avoid "football related articles". Unless I'm mistaken, NASL is about association football. Did you follow me like a stalker? Why should I avoid editing all football-related articles just because some of them are patrolled by a few notable keyboard warriors? It's amusing that some people set up some funny editing rules and regulations in Wikipedia and some people try to enforce these rules according to their own interpretations as much as they can. The fact is, when Jimmy Wales created Wikipedia, it was meant to be a place for everyone to freely contribute and share the sum of all human knowledge.

Now, back on topic. All across Wikipedia, you can see countries and continents in the Infobox being linked, often with flags attached as well. All I did was following the trend. If you want to change it, you can spend the rest of your life reverting every wiki Infobox you see to your standard in a never-ending cycle. As for the redirects, the rules you've quoted above clearly states that the main benefit of keeping these redirects is for other users to create another appropriate article if it is considered worthwhile. In my case, this doesn't apply. I was simply eliminating unnecessary redirects.

I might leave Wikipedia altogether, just like many others. Because I don't feel free here anymore. In my opinion, Wikipedia should be more free for everyone to enjoy, with only vandalism and false information worth everyone keeping an eye on. Some people spent 24/7 tirelessly reverting other people's contributions (and the majority of them weren't vandalism or false information) and take pride and pleasure in their work. Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Antilles. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. I can't find a discussion about it on the talk page. I reckon adding "The" is quite necessary since Antilles by itself is pretty confusing, there are a lot of Antilles other than the greater one. There isn't a current discussion - that's part of the standard warning template. In any case, please follow the instructions at WP:RM for requesting a move on the article's talk page. Wikipedia's naming conventions are complicated, and differ from your reasons above on several points. It's best if you read up on the conventions before making a proposal. As far as The Maritimes are concerned,it was actually at that title for years until August, when another user moved it without discussion. Redirect links

Hello Kenwick, please have a read of WP:NOTBROKEN. Simply put, it states that you should not "correct" links that redirect to the relevant article. For example, you changed [[East Asian]] to [[East Asia|East Asian]] at Coloureds. Please do not do this, the original link was a satisfactory redirect. Link changing

Hello, I'd like to repeat a message similar to the one you received in May 2019 regarding WP:NOTBROKEN, though this time related more to MOS:PIPE (see "Style") and your edit on Iceland. The changing of short links to longer-winded ones, such as [[Scandinavia]]ns to [[Scandinavia|Scandinavians]], has no effect on Wikipedia readers but makes the source text more difficult for editors to work with. Thank you for your comment. However, I reckon that saying my edit has made the source text more difficult for others to work with is a subjective statement. In my opinion, putting double square brackets in the middle of the words make the source text more difficult to read. Anyway, as you have said, these minor changes had no effect on Wikipedia readers, so I will not spend time fighting over it, but I will revert part of your edit that have created unnecessary redirects and inserted capital letters in the middle of the source text though. Sami languages

Is there now a consensus for this move? There was not in the past, see Talk:Kildin Sami orthography#Requested move 21 December 2018. Rua (mew) 15:20, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Is there a major issue for the name Sámi? I thought this one should be pretty straightforward as the main related article Sámi people already uses Sámi instead of Sami. I moved the article for consistency purposes. Kenwick (talk) 15:32, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

I have skimmed through the lengthy discussion. I reckon it is just another example of people making simple (and unimportant) things complicated. To me, Sámi or Sami makes no difference at all. I just prefer more consistency among those similar and related articles. If people want to fight to retain Sami languages and makes the whole website looking inconsistent, it's their choice, I don't mind. Kenwick (talk) 02:41, 18 July 2020 (UTC)

Use of first names

Hi Kenwick, many thanks for your updates to Eddie Chu. I noticed that you changed some mentions of Chu and replaced the family name with the first name.
