Hawthorn B & F[edit]

Sorry, but I don't trust AFL website or club websites when it comes to history matters. More than half the club B & F lists include errors, not by design but apparently by misguided belief in lists published in recent decades.

This Hawthorn matter for example: F Finch did not win an award known as Best & Fairest in 1925. He won the "best allrounder" award. see The Argus 16 Feb 1926 p.13 and The Age 16 Feb 1926 p.7

Utting did not win B & F in 1927. He won the "Most Consistent" award. see The Argus 7 Dec 1927 p.18

By the looks of things Finch and Utting won what loosely might be called the "Club Champion" award for a particular season, but it wasn't known as the Best & Fairest at the time.

I think the list should include their names - as long as there is a footnote for each entry showing what the award was actually called.

How would you feel about that suggestion ? RossRSmith (talk) 10:45, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:08 hawks-clash-prem-guernsey.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:08 hawks-clash-prem-guernsey.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:12, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
