Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Not exactly this view, but I willl be spending few days on this lake
I wondered how long it would take before someone turned that link blue. Thanks, Drmies! LadyofShalott-alt (talk) 04:23, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You should have added CoM's massive welcome template (it was originly Ukexpat's though). Hope you are enjoying your vacationi LoS, I'm leaving monday for UB, then Beijing-Toronto-Halifax. Hopefully this rain quits or else it will be a Kamaz trip to Dalanzadgad first, and I have already done that this week. I do not look forward to another bumpy drive through the Gobi...Need any cashmere? How about some Chinggis Khan Vodka?--kelapstick(bainuu) 08:38, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I deliberately waited to see when someone else would post here. I am having a good time, thanks. My group made the front page of the paper (in a good way) here this morning. Sounds like you have quite the trip lined up! Will you be in this hemisphere for a while? LadyofShalott-alt (talk) 03:06, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Very cool, I hope that you made the news for shenanigans and tomfoolery, does this mean that you can have an article now? It is indeed a long trip, fortunately I will be spending my time at the airports sampling the complementary beer and snacks at the Air China and Maple Leaf Lounges...Tsing Tao and dim sum...yummy.--kelapstick(bainuu) 07:20, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And to answer your other question Lady, about 3½ weeks home (after travel), making the reuinion tour this time, Nova Scotia (lobster for Canada Day), Ottawa, and the homeland.--kelapstick(bainuu) 09:14, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No notability for me I'm afraid, though "the leader of the yellow shirts" does have an article. More detail than that I'll keep off-wiki. Have a lovely trip home! That lake looks gorgeous. LadyofShalott 05:19, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Funny story[edit]

It appears that my secondary occupation is proofreader of job descriptions and procedures for the safety department (which is made up primarily of South Africans, who speak English, but it isn't their primary language.) While reading the role description of "miner" the first two paragraphs are a direct copy of the Wikipedia article mining. The third and fourth are almost identical to paragraphs in Underground mining (hard rock). Should I ask where the attibution is?--kelapstick(bainuu) 07:32, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hah, you should! Aren't job descriptions meant to be tailored to... oh, I dunno... the specific job in question? WP:NOTAJOBDESCRIPTION ;-) LadyofShalott 05:13, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This part was supposed to be a general description of mining, so it suited quite well. When I first started reading the job descriptions, there was a statement such as "a Mechanic 1-3 should find himself employed at any mine in the empire without issue"...I questioned which empire he would be working in...Holy Roman perhaps...--kelapstick(bainuu) 09:31, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
