ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, LocalNet. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with editing skills[edit]

Hello, i'm Josh and my username is Joshguevarra2001. I'm so sorry for my edits i made because i didn't know it was sectioned in iOS 10 article a while ago. Because for you to know, i still don't know how to edit my articles. I made it easily but they still edited it. Am i not good for editing skills, such as removing of sections. Can you please help me how to improve it. Thanks. Sorry for my grammar. Joshguevarra2001 (talk) 13:48, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Josh! I'm so sorry for the late reply, you caught me on my one unusually busy day hehe! I'm usually much quicker to respond. No worries at all! Here on Wikipedia, we value editors, both new and experienced, so I want to thank you for trying to contribute! There is indeed quite a learning curve to editing Wikipedia. I saw a tag in your edit that you used the Visual editor, which is great for starters! If at any time you want to see "behind the scenes", I recommend you to look at the code editor. It looks very advanced, but studying it, even for a short period, can dramatically improve proper editing, as (the last time I tested it) the Visual editor does lack some advanced, but useful features. But no matter which editor, I recommend you to always leave an edit summary! That way, other editors know your intentions, whether it's adding new content, changing content, or removing content. I also want you to know there was nothing personal about the reversions; sometimes, people feel "challenged" by a reversion, but that is definitely not what I intended to do. On Wikipedia, editors should be bold in their editing, which is exactly what you did, but in the particular case of iOS articles, it was best left to what it was. That does not mean you should feel bad about your edits; continue editing, continue testing, continue contributing! :) Thanks for the message and feel free to send me another one anytime! :) LocalNet (talk) 18:41, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. But i'm not new here. I'm here on March 2014. I just get into neglect of it because of ignorance. I came back into editing on July and then it gets straight to this day. I'm not usually here always, but rarely. I'm worried that in my mind, the people will get mad because i edited it. Is that what they're thinking or it's only in my mind? By the way, i just want to thanks for the comfort. I hope i can collaborate with you :). Joshguevarra2001 (talk) 04:13, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think anyone gets mad at you. I don't. Unless you do something that deliberately looks like vandalism, I think most people appreciate other editors. LocalNet (talk) 05:39, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
