Orphaned non-free media (Image:SMTDDS Fred.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:SMTDDS Fred.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. In case you aren't aware

You might take a look at WP:GAMEGUIDE. The stuff about Critical Finishers does not belong in the character articles, at the very least in the context that it's current presented and sure as hell should have some citation even then.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:50, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I understand. However, you should have only removed the Critical finisher section and not a massive information which doesn't apply to WP:GAMEGUIDE.--JCD (Talk) 15:31, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
The sections I've been removing are just things that the character article doesn't need, for instance lists of appearances which should be covered by the article itself, stage descriptions that don't mention the character, etc. (Sorry for the delay in replying, I usually end up forgetting to check other talk pages and wait for a reply on my own :X')
As for the Critical Finishers, if they'd be included in any form it'd have to be with a citable source (like a game guide for example) and made relevant to the rest of the article and character. Something like Cassandra's...interesting...one can be made relative to a character, but something like Ivy's ends up playing off other things already factored into her design and shown elsewhere, namely alchemy and the snake-sword's separation ability. And even if it does get mentioned it belongs as part of the gameplay section of the articles. But for now pretty much the only thing that can be done until a guide can be cited is to remove them from the articles and post why in the summary until folks get a point. With just anons doing the additions, talking to them might end up a useless endeavor.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:37, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Hmm I see, you have a point there. No prob, with the late reply.
Well, in any case a manual effort may temporarily stop these "anons doing the additions". Let's just hope for a citable source to come out so this issue could be resolved. Thanks for the reply btw.--JCD (Talk) 15:18, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

I didn't bring it up on the discussion page, but...

I'm really not finding too much at all on Inferno at this point in terms of how people received it. I know though that any attempt to deal with that is going to make people livid. I just haven't got much of anything, other than a jab from Kotaku saying Algol is better and a few brief comparisons between him and Charade. That's really not much of anything though. :\--Kung Fu Man (talk) 05:41, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

As much as I see it, people's reception about boss characters are rather not being brought to a greater height. Probably because, they're boss characters and imo, receptions about them are well.. fewer. For example, Inferno wasn't playable in II and III:AE, it's just an implication, lesser receptions would be made on how he could fight. Same as Abyss who was merged with Zasalamel's article and Algol, who's article was deleted.
However, I really don't have an idea on what to do about his article. Guess I'll just leave it to you on what to do with it :).--JCD (Talk) 05:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I can already tell just by looking at the article it'll need to be handled delicately...while I'm here btw, I've been thinking about changing the artwork in Tira's box to her SC3 design as it shows her full body and is more iconic, and changing the current image to be used in the article's body instead. What do you think?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:44, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
That's aa pretty neat idea, well there's no restrictions to that. Or you could just put the thumbnail of either her III or IV look just like Setsuka's?--JCD (Talk) 05:50, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Possible, but a lot of the reception there currently is discussing her more based off her look in III, and the hunched artwork for IV just doesn't seem suitable...the only artwork of that outfit not in that pose is the concept art :\. Quick note, Algol's article is back: I managed to gather adequate stuff for reception, including the jab at Inferno by Kotaku.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:31, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... I see. But isn't the VGcharacter box used to show the character in question in its recent form? (or maybe I get it wrong?) On the other hand, you could try rotating Tira's SCIV art clockwise (maybe that won't violate any copyright or something?) and adding her SCIII pic on the reception part, with the caption "Tira wearing revealing clothes in SCIII"... or something... Man, I'm starting to lose good ideas here lol. Oh and btw, good to hear Algol's article is back now.--JCD (Talk) 14:46, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Have you managed to get anything for Kilik?

Good to see you back. I ended up digging around but couldn't find anything concrete to talk about for him in regards to third-party notability. He got noted a lot as a fan favorite, but only in a brief context. GameDaily described him as one of the "hottest male videogame characters", a brief mention of an action figure, and a resin kit. That's kinda less than even Xianghua has, and I'm worried about the length of her final article too, as well as a few others. Any luck on your end?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:30, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Tenchuwoh mobile.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Tenchuwoh mobile.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. License tagging for File:Onikage.jpg

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Please update your status with WP:VG

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.
