Notability of Daniel Levinson[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Daniel Levinson, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Daniel Levinson seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. I have made very clear that is was one of the three founders of the field of positive adult development. He is also one of the most cited.

MLC Thanks for the suggestions. I will revise as soon as I get a minute.

I am somewhat concerned by the quality and nature of your edits. For John Anthony Nevin, you provided a long list of journal articles, listed alphabetically by first author, which is not appropriate for a general encyclopedia, which is not a bibliography, and a collection of awards and memberships; for Daniel Levinson, you provide almost no exact information at all. Neither of them is right. For Positive Adult Development you provide no source at all to show that the use of the term is standard, or even give a definition, and refer generally to people's work without giving references, and list as related topics what seems like almost everything possible in psychology.

I strongly support the inclusion of articles on significant academics like these two and significant academic specialties. But i urge you to write more informative articles. I see the improvements. Good work so far, but there's some more to go.

for Levinson, at the very least add material about his birthdate and place, his degrees and positions, and add reviews of his books. Any librarian can help you find them. Try to find some biographical notice about him--there should be one.

for Nevin, try to organize it a little more readably. Try to find references for the awards. Try to find out what are the most significant of the papers, and consider listing only them, not the minor one or the book chapters. . List them in chronological order, not alphabetic. Proposed deletion of Society for research in adult development[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Society for research in adult development, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
