Thank you for your message. I am replying here rather by email for transparency. I have edited this article in the past, but I am only one of many editors there, and have added very little of the actual content. I am a member of the Wikipedia Opera Project and several of us keep a watch on this page because in the past an editor tried to add material which was in clear violation of Wikipedia's policy on the biographies of living persons. You can read about the episode here. The work I have done on the article has been primarily to edit the prose for encyclopedic style and neutral point of view, add references to reliable sources, remove unsourced assertions (particularly if they violate Wikipedia's policies on the biographies of living persons), remove inappropriate commercial links, and remove copyright violations.

If you or Ms. Gheorghiu are concerned about the article, you need to read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help. Also essential is Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, which is a key policy and contains much useful information.

Before you or anyone with a personal or professional relationship to Ms. Gheorghiu edits the article about her, you need to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Autobiography and make sure you follow the guidelines there.

If you wish to donate text or a photograph, you need to follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Note that to donate a photograph, Ms. Gheorghiu must own the copyright to it herself or have obtained written proof from the photographer that he/she is willing to release the photograph on a free license. This means that anyone, not just Wikipedia is free to use the photograph as they wish, even for commercial purposes without having to pay royalties or ask for further permission. As for her official biography, I should warn you that these are usually unencyclopedic and promotional in tone. If added to the article, even under a free license, they will be edited by others to conform to encyclopedic style, neutral point of view (another key policy), and the Wikipedia Manual of Style. The Wikipedia article will not remain an exact replica of what is on her website or that of her management and in fact will probably be significantly altered. References will also be required to support the assertions made.

I will be away for the first two weeks of April, but if you need further advice, there are several noticeboards where you can seek help or further information from other editors:

Thank you very much. I'll start reading everything you suggested. --Madamabutterfly (talk) 17:31, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi there. This kind of edit [1] is not acceptable, and I see that another editor has reverted it. You cannot remove a huge chunk of an article and referenced information without discussing it first on the talk page of the article, and certainly should not do this without leaving an edit summary. As you have a clear conflict of interest, you must discuss changes in the article on the talk page first, and you need to declare your conflict of interest there. I also note that you have uploaded what is clearly a copyright professional photograph without stating the source, the name of the photographer, or who owns the copyright. As you have uploaded it now, you are claiming that you own the copyright. If you are not the photographer, and and do not have their permission, you cannot release it under a free license. If you are the photographer, you need to state this clearly. I should warn you that if you do not provide the necessary documentation and permission for this, the photo will probably be deleted. As I will be away, I've asked the Opera Project to keep an eye on the article. In the meantime, I strongly urge you to read the guidelines I linked above and make sure you understand them and follow them. And please leave an edit summary for each edit that you make to the article. Voceditenore (talk) 04:29, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello. I have no intention of doing something wrong on purpose. my mistake about deleting that passage. I'm learning to use wiki.

yes, Mrs Gheorghiu owns the copyright of the photo.I added the info. please check to see if it's ok.I don't want the file to be deleted. I'll leave an edit summary each time. Thank you very much for helping.Madamabutterfly (talk) 18:51, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

March 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Angela Gheorghiu has been reverted.
Your edit here to Angela Gheorghiu was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/GrandTier) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 18:12, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Angela Gheorghiu discography[edit]

Hi, I wonder if you have the catalogue numbers for the CDs and DVDs? If you could add them that would be great! Regards. --Kleinzach 06:33, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Angela Gheorghiu.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Angela Gheorghiu.jpg, which you've sourced to Wikipedia:OTRS_noticeboard#File:Angela_Gheorghiu.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sven Manguard Wha? 18:35, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
