Rewriting

Apparently, it's harder to write civil edit summaries. Seriously, it is difficult to be patient when dealing with serial copyright violators (like the one who posted that article). And if those of us watching for copyvios took the time to rewrite them all instead of just tagging them, we'd be overwhelmed by the volume of them and Wikipedia would be facing multiple infringement lawsuits, like youtube, google, etc. I'm just trying to help out here; I don't need your thanks, but just the same I'd rather not be the brunt of your sarcasm. --Butseriouslyfolks 07:20, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Your comment on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Edward Behr (food writer)

The upshot of your statement was that I had made the nomination in bad faith. I don't think this case is much different from any other contested speedy or prod that is forwarded to AFD - this happens many times every day. The only difference is that I found out that the speedy had been declined by way of someone opposing me at RFA for being a trigger-happy deletionist. My first reaction was anger; my second reaction was to reexamine my judgment and see if I really had made a mistake. I decided that there might indeed be grounds to delete, hence the AFD. I do not really care about the result: I've been wrong before, and it won't affect the RFA which is currently failing. But I do care about my reputation, and I will not keep silent when my motives are called into question. I apologize for the harsh tone because I can't find a calmer way to voice my frustration. I would also like to note, in some, probably vain, attempt at redeeming myself in a fellow Wikipedian's eyes, I am not entirely irrational. I do not believe I put down uncivil, as you put it, things in all my speedy tags. Cellulose acetate film was blanked by creator.

Actually, Cellulose acetate film was created with references but no content by a new editor. So I moved those into Safety film and made the article a redirect. The original author then blanked the article, removing the redirect, which is usually considered a request for deletion per CSD-G7. (They probably realized they'd made a mistake by adding a new article on an existing subject, and were trying to undo the damage.) So I put up a housekeeping delete for it, to get rid of the empty article. It was either that or revert their blanking.

I have no problem with it being a redirect; that's what I wanted to do. No big deal. --John Nagle 05:59, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I have a question. I'm part of Indonesian Wiki Project, and I want to put some pics in the articles of Artika Sari Devi, Nadine Chandrawinata, and Agni Pratistha. My question is, what kind of tag should I use if the pics are already exists in Indonesian Wiki portal, because I want to upload it to the main wiki portal. The original pics and tags are Copyright and used by permission. Vintagekits

This editor and his friends/cabal (One Night In Hackney and Paidraiguk) do seem to follow my contributions. VK added speedy delete tags to 2 articles yesterday that I was trying to build up and they got deleted before I could respond. Thankfully another editor helped to maintain the other one (Edwyn Burnaby‎) before he could speedy that one too.

I have had problems with this editor in the past (as have many others) and I do generally try and avoid him/her if possible, and generally ignore any insults or comments he/she may make my way. I did take his troll comments to be a personal attack especially as I have been editing Wikipedia for 4 years! Thanks Astrotrain 18:06, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

advice wanted on RS requirements

Dear Mark,

I am in a prolonged dispute with admin User:Haemo. I want to add information to an article. The information is RS sourced. The information is not misleading. (It might ofcourse be wrong, as any info, but it is not suggesting anything that it should not suggest (SYNTH).) He now says it would violate SYNTH as well as neutrality (UNDUE) to include it, while there is no RS that says it is important. (He sometimes even claims it is not relevant, but that is completely intenable.) But the RS are not saying it is important (in fact they ignore it), because they are holding viewpoint A, whereas this info is stipulated by holders of viewpoint B. Viewpoint B is acknowledged to exist by RS, and has many prominent adherents. Can you give me advice whether Haemo is correct !??
