ADHD[edit]

There is an entire page on the ADHD controversy. The financial conflicts of interest is mentioned. If you go to CHADDs page they actually mention that a large portion of their income is from pharma companies. Theses pages still need alot of work. Feel free to join in. Check out Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder controversies if you havn't seen it already. The reason why the tags are their is one editor, Scuro, believes that ADHD is not controversial and spend all his time trying to remove well referenced sources that say it is. His opinion is that the views of the drug companies and Dr. Barkleys is the only valid one. --Doc James (talk) 15:18, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User & talk pages & ADHD[edit]

Hi MoMM. Followed you here from your comment at ADHD. Thanks for that, and please do join in and edit. "Consensus" doesn't mean much when there are only a couple of people talking. (I'm somewhat interested and concerned but have no expertise at all in psychiatry. I know a little bit about circadian rhythms, which is what got me started here.)

I did follow your link to Bob Collier's site and read much of it. Opinionated cuss, isn't he. I share many of his concerns, but one paragraph there made me gasp. He can't be right about this, and it weakens his argument, I think.

  • "Well, if ‘ADHD’ is a ‘brain disease’, that means something has happened to the brain, doesn’t it? To me, that means something observable and identifiable. Something that would show up in a brain scan and enable a medical practitioner to distinguish between a child who has ‘ADHD’ and a child who doesn’t. There would be objective data, in other words."

Looks like you're new. Welcome! Your user page is just for you. Any love/hate messages belong here on your talk (discussion) page. Most people don't post an e-mail address. You may enable e-mail on the preferences page; then "E-mail this user" will appear in your toolbox, lower left. People can then mail you, but no one can harvest your address.
