Hi Mbeatty. The information you added has already been on the Scuba page once, and is now available on Scuba diving, the page you have altered is a disambiguation page, which lists different meanings of a term, and these meanings link to pages with more extensive information. Disambiguation pages are not generally used as Wikipedia information pages as such, and the information you've added doesn't actually link to another page. If you look through the Scuba page history, you'll see that several people have contributed to the page and arrived at it's current form. I'm not suggesting that you can't contribute (far from it) but that you might like to look through the page history before making changes. And if you do make a change, could you please make an descriptive note about the change in the Edit summary box provided. Cheers. Andy.--Andy Wade 08:59, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Ohiocanalmap.gif listed for deletion[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Ohiocanalmap.gif has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. – riana_dzasta 13:32, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Cross Keys Tavern, would benefit from the following templates: {{Infobox nrhp}}, {{WarrenOH-NRHP-struct-stub}}, and {{Registered Historic Places}}. Hope you find those helpful. §hep¡Talk to me! 20:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
