Requesting guidance in accessing US university sources

@ Megalibrarygirl Greetings,

How are you? I am kind of stuck for access to sources on one Indic background article Draft:1969 Rabindra Sarobar Stadium en masse sexual violence controversy#Bibliography. I could search for bibliography. Sources are from pre internet era 1969 to 71. Access to books seem to be behind google books paywall, I tried WP resource exchange board but I doubt users helping resource exchange board likely to have any access to U.S. University libraries. Paywalled Google seem to have scanned books from libraries like University of Michigan, University of Virginia etc.

Can there be any way out, requesting your guidance.

Thanks and warm regards

What is the source you are looking for, Bookku? In addition, Gamaliel is an academic librarian and may be able to help. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 00:55, 4 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. For example following books were scanned by Google books from University of Michigan, in coming week I will arrange more University wise with links to Google Books so that will be easier for communication and searching refs.

  • The University of Michigan Library
    • "Now (Volume 5, Part 2)". : S. Sen. 1969: 3. OCLC 1774567. {{cite journal}}: Cite journal requires |journal= (help)

@Bookku: Two places you might try to access these materials are the Internet Archive and the Digital Library of India. Both sites have many scanned books and journals that aren't available to read completely on Google Books. Gamaliel (talk) 15:32, 4 February 2022 (UTC)

@Gamaliel: I had used archive.org already and browsed https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in issue is mainly coming up due to copyright and these sources are not internationally as prominent either to be available on prominent platforms which Wikipedia Library makes available. Still this conversation was useful in the sense re–browsing with different terms gave me some more clues and sources.

Thanks and warm regards

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future.
