An article you recently created, List of Asian Games medalists in kabaddi, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can develop the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 22:04, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

Category:Shooters at the 2020 Summer Olympics

The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived.

It is not correct to populate the category Category:Shooters at the 2020 Summer Olympics until the 2020 Summer Olympics take place. The people that you have added to the category may well have qualified for the event, but that does not mean that they will necessarily take part in the event; anything could happen between now and then to mean that they do not participate. Only when they have participated in the 2020 Summer Olympics can they be added to the category. Paora (talk) 11:24, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

  • @Worldbruce: hi,you removed files from article that was from official website of games and said they are self-published !! what is the problem?every event like olympic and example 2019 World Wrestling Championships has pdf file in it's article source for reliability..thanks--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 16:08, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
I removed sources that were self-published (todor66.com and sportfieber.pytalhost.com), so are not reliable sources, and those that failed verification (todor66.com, sportfieber.pytalhost.com, incheon2014ag.org, and www.ocasia.org). Not a single one of them shows what you claim. It struck me as a very lazy attempt at sourcing. As an editor who has been around a while, you should know better. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:26, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Cooperation

The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived.

Hello Mr. Mojtaba, my dear friend, if you are satisfied, we would like to cooperate in creating articles by Iranian footballers. If possible, tell me if there is a list of pages that are in Persian and not in English so that I can create them here. I am very interested in football and I want to work in this field.Ap (Talkcontribs) 21:10, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

In my opinion, we should be a little more active in improving the articles of Iranian football players in English and bring the articles to the Good article nominations.Ap (Talkcontribs) 21:13, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
@AppoWeb: hello! well ! that's good idea..do you know persian? did you have an account before?--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 21:53, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
yes I am fluent in Persian completely because my mother is Iranian and my father is Italian, so I learned Persian from childhood and I have just calculated, but I know and read the general policies. If you agree to cooperate in this case, I have a new article in my Sandbox. I want to create it. Take a look and see if it is good.Ap (Talkcontribs) 22:02, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
@AppoWeb: well..but your article about barmak can be better..tranfermarkt is not reliable..see my arcticle about footballer to see standard article about Iranian footballers..we can cooperate..i'll prepare a list..--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 22:13, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Make a great list and let us know so that we can start. I don't think we should avoid the goodness of Persian articles in English. We should be able to improve Iranian football articles.I wanted to link the article of Mr. Barmak to a good link, but I did not find anything. If you have a link, tell me to add it, or add it yourself if you do not mind. There was nothing in their Persian article. Take a look at the good links. There are no valid links in it.(کوروش برمک).Ap (Talkcontribs) 22:16, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
i'm very busy these days..you must know that reliable sources for iranian's persons are few in eng..i'll help you as i can..--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 22:23, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Due to my mastery of Persian, I can help you in Persian as well. If you want, tell me to participate in Persian together.--Ap (Talkcontribs) 22:25, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Is there a tool for translating foreign footballers' articles into Persian? If so, tell me to install it and translate the articles into Persian.--Ap (Talkcontribs) 22:27, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
@AppoWeb: at last, do you want to create articles in english or persian?! --Mojtaba2361 (talk) 22:30, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Both languages, because you said you're busy right now, so I wanted to start creating articles so you can list them.--Ap (Talkcontribs) 22:33, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

I don't know nothing about issues and so i'm not banned user(you can chekuser) and I don't understand what was problem of my article?--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 15:00, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

@GiantSnowman: many thanks. I'll do it--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 16:30, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
The Rubén Anguiano article has not been created previously. You have been advised to raise the topic at DRV. However, I believe you are wasting your time. The topic is non-notable. GiantSnowman 16:26, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
@GiantSnowman: why you first said to raise in wp:RFU? i sent message on your talk, you answer me here? i said for example ruben anguiano..the wp:NFOOTY says the article is notable because he played in 2 professional league (I showed links for you and there is no difference between persons for same job) but i can't understand why you believe this and ignore it! --Mojtaba2361 (talk) 16:41, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
You need to raise at WP:DRV, as you have been told. GiantSnowman 19:04, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL. GiantSnowman 10:41, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

@GiantSnowman: WP:NFOOTY clearly says, only one match play in professional league becomes footballer notable and there is no difference between persons for same job (Area) : Players who have played, and managers who have managed, in a competitive game between two teams from fully professional leagues will generally be regarded as notable. See a list of fully professional leagues kept by WikiProject Football. ″Peyman Keshavarzi Nazarloo″ has played in both Azerbaijan Premier League (Azerbaijan) and Persian Gulf Pro League (Iran) and even he scored on 21 August 2020. These leagues are existed in WP:FPL as a professional's league. so what makes Peyman Keshavarzi Nazarloo whom played and scored in a two professional league unnotable?? your action was against the law. if you don't undelete and unprotect the article, i will complain to you in wp:AN.--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 21:14, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
There is consensus that only just passing NFOOTBALL when you fail GNG means you are not notable - and that was the consensus at the AFD. GiantSnowman 09:08, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

If there are several people named Ali Karimi then a disambiguation page may be appropriate - has this been discussed on the talk page?— Rod talk 19:52, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

I see there is still Ali Karimi (disambiguation). If all the links correctly take the reader to Ali Karimi (footballer, born 1978 then is any revert necessary?— Rod talk 19:53, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
Rodw yesterday, somebody moved article (after 17 years!), ali karimi to Ali Karimi (footballer, born 1978) and it is wrong because of he is popularness and due to wp:common name. many example of this you can see here Category:Human name disambiguation pages like Tony Abbott (disambiguation)..he is the main name and others can have a different name--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 19:59, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
i think yes.because of correct links.i know that the readers can see the main page with redirect but is better to be reverted.thanks--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 20:02, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
So on the disambiguation page you could just put Ali Karimi (footballer, born 1978) as the first entry to make him stand out from others with the same name. As any reader typing "Ali Karimi" into the search box is taken to the one born in 1978 I don't see any advantage in reverting multiple edits.— Rod talk 20:23, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
Rodw you moved links because of new redirect (that was wrong), so you must move them again to previous.that's all--Mojtaba2361 (talk) 21:47, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

G5 criteria

WP:G5 applies if the page was created AFTER a ban and if there are no substantial edits by other users. Neither of these criterion were true with Etemad (disambiguation). MB 15:24, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

@MB: Actually, criteria 1 does apply as this is a returning sock. As you pointed out, criteria 2 does not: Of the 13+ items the banned editor wanted listed, only 3 people and the primary topic (a newspaper) remain. Additional topics have been added. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 17:35, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
