Conflict of interest?[edit]

Hi Mrmattu, I saw your edits at Solent University and looked at your contributions on Wikipedia. I noticed that most of your edits are at, or are about, Solent University. Are you connected to the university in any way? Are you paid by the university or another business to edit these pages? I suggest that you read WP:COI and ask any questions you have below or at the help desk. I look forward to your response below. Z1720 (talk) 18:07, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Z1720: I have read WP:COI and no i'm all good. Thank you. Mrmattu (talk) 18:47, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to ask again, but it's helpful if this is super clear: Do you have a connection with the university and if yes what's the nature of the connection? (Alumni, staff member, student etc.) Also, have you been paid by anyone to edit Wikipedia? I'd appreciate yes/no answers. These might be annoying questions but Wikipedia needs to be sure that editors with possible COIs are following the website's policies. Thanks! Z1720 (talk) 19:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t thanks Mrmattu (talk) 19:12, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome. Thanks for answering. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy editing! Z1720 (talk) 19:13, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Will do thanks 👍 Mrmattu (talk) 19:17, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Uploading fair-use images to Commons[edit]

Fair-use images, that is images protected under copyright but whose use on Wikipedia is reasonable under such terms (such as identification), are not permitted on Wikimedia Commons, as explained on COM:FAIRUSE. Commons is only for free-use images, those who may be used freely under their copyright, such as those licensed under a creative commons license. Your recent upload of a coat of arms created by the university without clear permission thence breaks these rules. Due to this, the image has been reverted to its previous state. Please also do not upload different images over originals unless they are a minor modification, and instead upload them as a separate image. I have reverted your changes, but feel free to upload the arms to Wikipedia (not Commons) to place in the infobox.

For more information, please see the reversion explanation, which provides further links. Shadowssettle Need a word? 15:55, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
