March 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Largoplazo. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Climax Blues Band have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. The language you added about the new album was promotional, written so as to raise reader interest and to lead them to it. This is a misuse of Wikipedia. Also, there's no justification for the removal of the infobox, nor for replacing the pic of the band (the subject of the article) with a pic of the cover of the album you were promoting (not the subject of the article). Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Climax Blues Band, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Hi Jorm, Sorry to be annoying you but I'm a novice at Wikipedia. I'm trying unsuccessfully to update the Climax Blues Band content so that it reflects where they are today but the content keeps getting rejected.

As a comparison I looked at Eric Clapton's Wikipedia page: In August 2018, Clapton announced that he had recorded his twenty-fourth studio album, Happy Xmas, which consists of blues-tinged interpretations of Christmas songs, with the album released on 12 October.[123]

In 2019, Climax Blues Band released "Hands of Time" their 21st album, consisting of 13 new original songs, plus a bonus unreleased track 'Getting There" with the late Colin Cooper. It was recorded at Silk Mill Studios in Staffordshire, UK and is a mixture of bluesy funk, soul and jazz rock, all of the ingredients that have kept the band working for over 50 years. The lineup of George Glover, Lester Hunt, Graham Dee, Chris Aldridge, Neil Simpson and Roy Adams continues to tour.[12]

Eric Clapton also has a recent photo from May 2015 but again we seem to have a problem changing the photo from 1974 to 2019.

Please tell me what's wrong with the text and changing a photo that represents who the band are for the last 6 years? Rob Musicmatters2 (talk) 17:52, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

(Cut and paste my response on my talk page to here; please follow my advice about learning to use talk pages).
Musicmatters2: You are unsuccessful because you are a) not reading the edit notices of the editors who are reverting you, and thus not learning; and b) not opening discussions on the article's talk page, like you should.
My talk page is not the place to discuss this. The correct place is on the talk page of the article. I will not discuss your proposed edits here, and neither will anyone else. You need to open a discussion there, or you will continually be reverted (actually, probably not: one more revert and you'll be in "edit war" territory and will likely get blocked instead).
I suggest also that you learn how to use talk pages. You posted this at the top of my page and I had to refactor it down.--Jorm (talk) 18:48, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
