I do have a couple of friendly suggestions.

When your edit was reverted, WP:BRD says you should not have restored it but gone to the talk page instead.
When you are replying on talk pages, you should indent your reply by adding an extra ":" at the beginning of the line.

There are a lot of policies around here, and it takes some getting used to. So don't be discouraged - and certainly don't be embarrassed that your first edit was reverted. One of the great things about WP is that we are all encouraged to be Bold, knowing that if we make a mistake, someone else will come along and Revert it and then we can Discuss it on the talk page.
