Welcome to Wikipedia

Hello, Nascar fan mx, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Alex, and I've been a member here for a while. This is just a brief greeting that I like to show newly registered users. Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopedia in the world. To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has over one million articles, but we still need more! Please feel free to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site.

If you need help see:

Here are a few more good links for newcomers:

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and myself or another experienced user will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Non-free use disputed for Image:Nascar mexico logo.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Nascar mexico logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:20, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mexican NASCAR drivers[edit]

Thank you for starting articles about Mexican NASCAR drivers. Keep up the great work! Please add all NASCAR Mexico drivers to Wikipedia:WikiProject NASCAR by adding the WikiProject's template to the driver's talk page (in most cases add: {{WikiProject NASCAR|class=stub|importance=low}} ). Also add there talk page to WikiProject Biography by in most cases adding {{WPBiography|class=stub}} .

Also, many users of Wikipedia do not use the accented letters, so the Rogelio López article would not be found. I searched using my 104 key keyboard and I could not find it. What you should do is create a blank article called Rogelio Lopez, and redirect it to Regelio López. You would type in #REDIRECT [[Rogelio López]] as the only contents of the article. That way everyone can find the article!

I also invite you to join WikiProject NASCAR. We could use expert help on the Mexican series! Royalbroil 20:59, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:NCS-SLP.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:NCS-SLP.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cut/Paste move[edit]

Hello, Nascar fan mx. It appears that you copied and pasted Grand Premio de México to Gran Premio de México. Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself using the move link at the top of the page, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you, Cmjc80 (talk) 01:39, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NASCAR driver images[edit]

Could you upload them to Wikimedia Commons instead of here to the English Wikipedia? They should be put there so that all of the other Wikipedia's like the German Wikipedia, etc. can use them. I'll probably end up moving all of them to Commons. Royalbroil 03:50, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All that you have to do is upload them here. The process of uploading them is the same. Please add all drivers to Category:NASCAR drivers. That's it! I should mention that they can be used on the Spanish Wikipedia, too, with no extra effort. Great pictures! Royalbroil 03:56, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted all of them. I'm able to delete since I'm an admin. Royalbroil 23:45, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Nascar fan mx! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 938 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Abraham Calderón - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Rogelio López - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Good one[edit]

I can live with this version. Good one. DVdm (talk) 15:28, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to the African Destubathon[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
