Keep it up...

... and I'll have to take some more train pictures! As far as the submarine, I can't get it to float in the right place in the article. Something big (for me) coming up - I think I've got Center City Philadelphia NRHPs fully illustrated, but it takes some time to upload and double check the demolished ones - and I'm leaving town for a week on Friday. Are there any special rules/guidelines on fully illustrated lists? Smallbones (talk) 02:58, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

PR request

Hi Niagara, would you mind reading Clemuel Ricketts Mansion, especially the Architecture section, and commenting on any improvements needed at the peer review? No worries if you can't, but thanks in advance if you are able to comment, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:02, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I added some pictures to Clemuel Ricketts Mansion - there are more on Commons and I need to upload some interior ones too. Do they look OK? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:40, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 April newsletter

Round two is over, and we are down to our final 32. For anyone interested in the final standings (though not arranged by group) this page has been compiled. Congratulations to Pennsylvania Hunter Kahn (submissions), our clear overall round winner, and to Colombia ThinkBlue (submissions) and Norway Arsenikk (submissions), who were solidly second and third respectively. There were a good number of high scorers this round- competition was certainly tough! Round three begins tomorrow, but anything promoted after the end of round two is eligible for points. 16 contestants (eight pool leaders and eight wildcards) will progress to round four in two months- things are really starting to get competitive. Anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.

Judge iMatthew has retired from Wikipedia, and we wish him the best. The competition has been ticking over well with minimal need for judge intervention, so thank you to everyone making that possible. A special thank you goes to participants Bavaria Stone (submissions) and White Shadows (submissions) for their help in preparing for round three. Good luck everyone! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Photo requests?

I've never paid attention — do you upload many pictures? If you do, could you consider visiting some of the NRHP archaeological sites in Lancaster County? There are several around Washington Boro in particular. Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 02:47, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Is there a quick way to merge these? Since Exton is a CDP, I don't know any definite boundaries, so I kinda like the Exton name better. Call me vain, but I like my photo better. I'll merge all text, etc. (there's not much) into the Exton article. Let me know if there is anything else I have to do. Smallbones (talk) 14:04, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

I am making the changes right now. To respond to ""In response, Alexandrov blamed the problems on the person who was responsible for orchestrating the entries for the final contest rounds, Viktor Knushevitsky."" Stalin has criticized the music that Alexandrov made and Alexandrov wanted someone to blame. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 02:16, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Clemuel thanks you

<font=3> Thanks again for your peer review, support, and kind words. Clemuel Ricketts Mansion is now a featured article! Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:04, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Pithole

Thanks. I just looked at Pithole and thought it looked pretty good - a few places that could use a copyedit, probably would help to have a map of the streets (I could help with this if needed), and perhaps a bit more on Geology. What do you think is still needed? I can do a thorough review if you'd like. Sorry I do not know of more sources for Niagara. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:08, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Please let me know when it is at PR and I will be glad to review it. On Geology I thought adding a sentence or two on the rough age and other properties of the oil bearing formation might be useful - see here Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:50, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks - I should review it in the next day or two. Do you want me to copyedit as I go along too? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 11:44, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
I have a copy of "Ghost Towns of Pennsylvania" and it has seven or so pages on Pithole, with more details on the people - mostly talks about teamsters and prostitutes, but seems like it has several things that might help expanding the article a bit. It is on Google Books here. If you need me to, I can also scan and email the relevant pages to you. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:08, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
I answered in the PR - please ask if you hvae additional questions, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:10, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Great find for the article - bad news for Pithole. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 19:55, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

OK, I will take a last look now. Then weigh back in here (and on the PR page) Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:00, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Done with the PR - will be glad to take another look, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:37, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

I looked at the PR. You've covered what I brought up. The article is ready for the next step. Well done. Dincher (talk) 21:24, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

I replied at the PR on the last points. I think it is ready for FAC now, though I am sure someone there will find something else to fix ;-) . Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:26, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

More railroad pix

Not all that exciting - but I thought you might be interested. The PRR 7000 has an interesting number. The LVRR locomotive has an interesting color. You can see all 7 at the gallery at Cape May Seashore Lines. Smallbones (talk) 19:44, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Judging from www.LVRR.COM the official color was "Cornell Red." This was probably a non-standard paint job that's fading badly. BTW, I have the 578 from a distance and it is the same color and both are at [1] starting to fade, but from other pictures "Cornell Red" is pretty close to Fire Engine Red. Erie

I am not going to undo your edit for now, because your reasoning is valid, as the source does read Dfb for the Erie area (map hard to read because it is slanted and covers the entire world). However, the map spans from 1951-2000 data: in the infobox, WIKI presents data from 1971-2000. Based on that data:

  • January average: 26.9 °F (−2.8 °C)
  • July average: 72.1 °F (22.3 °C)

Thus, based on the calculation criteria presented in the source and on the Koppen page, Erie is barely Cfa for all that matter, but some scientists may say Dfa. ---华钢琴49 (TALK) 05:13, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

nvm. I will change the source used. --- 华钢琴49 (TALK) 01:03, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Philadelphia Bourse

It appears you added the info for the height of this building at 145 feet (44 m). I am trying to find the correct height as Emporis.com list the height at 125 feet (38 m). Please let me know where you got your information. Thank you. Xnatedawgx (talk) 13:59, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Ref needed in Presque Isle State Park

Hi Niagara, not sure if you saw this conversation or not, but a dead link in Presque Isle State Park has us looking for a new source, and I thought you might know of one. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 16:14, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Karanacs (talk) 17:25, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey There

Was checking out your userpage (looking for a new layout for mine) and seen your picture of the Washington Metro. If you are a daily rider, you might be interested in this userbox. - NeutralHomerTalk • 02:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I'm considering it. I don't ride it daily, but I think I've done it more than most. By the way there is more than one photo (it changes everytime the page is reloaded) ;-) Go right ahead and take anything you like for your userpage. Niagara Don't give up the ship 02:32, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Ah, didn't know the photo changed. Kinda ironic it was on the Metro picture. :) I will give a look-see around. I am kinda borrowing pieces from different pages and making them into my own (with credit, of course). - NeutralHomerTalk • 02:34, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
