License tagging for Image:Hammerstones by Roeder.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hammerstones by Roeder.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:09, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Alderley Edge Mines[edit]

Have added references and pictiures as suggested. Also, added copyright tag (PD-old-70) to Roeder's picture of hammerstones.

References to Alderley Edge[edit]

Hi - I've moticed you've removed the references tag I included so that inline citations could be included. If you prefer to have author-date referencing (which actually, I also prefer, given my own academic work experience), we need to get some way of being able to handle the citations of websites for, say, the population figures (which is why I added the tag), and also a way of giving these inline which doesn't muck up things like the infobox. Do you have any suggestions for this?  DDStretch  (talk) 10:34, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ooops - sorry. Ignore most of that, you've done it! I've also added a notes section to avoid mixing up superscripted stuff (which is sometimes needed) with the author-date forms of referencing. I hope that is a useful way of solving the potential problem which would mix up author-date referencing with superscripted comments (and make it all very ugly as a result).  DDStretch  (talk) 10:42, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm feeling my way a bit with Wikipedia so apologies for anything I get wrong. I'll have a go at some references for the general history section some time. User:nigeldibben 23 May 2007
No problem. It always good to see someone taking care to add references. Do you know about the Cheshire WikiProject at all? If you look at it and see what we are doing, it would be good to see you there if you feel you wanted to join. Best wishes.  DDStretch  (talk) 14:25, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
