Thank you for your recent edits to the article - it really helps when fresh eyes take a look at a page and weed out errors and omission, big and small. A suggestion: when you add new content such as the about Mumbai Grand Prix or gas stations, it is good to also add sources that attest that information. This is required by wikipedia's verifiability and reliable source policies. You can learn the mechanics of how to add sources at WP:CITE, and if you have and questions, please feel free to ask here or on my talk page. Cheers. Abecedare 09:20, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I have seen your edits on the Mumbai page and your additions/corrections are very useful and welcome. Don't hesitate to be bold, and even make make (unintentional) mistakes on wikipedia - as someone will eventually come along and correct the errors, just as you have been correcting others' mistakes.
A couple of tips:
  • When you leave a message on a new topic on a talk page, place your comment at the bottom of the page. You can start a new topic by simply clicking on the "+" sign next to "edit this page" at the top of the page.
  • Sign your talk page messages by appending four tildas (~~~~) at the end of your comment.
As you edit more here, you will learn more about the manual of style, wiki markup and other conventions; but as long as one remembers to add only verifiable information to the encyclopedia and treat other editors with civility they do fine. Happy editing. Abecedare 16:08, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mumbai in Devnagri[edit]

Thanks for your edit. But please beaware that some propogators of English and Raj deliberately create this Hindi and Marathi devide to take their hidden agenda of promoting English. You may edit it to neutral Devnagri if you agree. SO mumbai is Mumbai for every one and not Bombay for rest other than Marathi speaking people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.191.37 (talk) 12:17, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't understand your point. That signboard is written in Marathi. Marathi and Hindi share the same script, thats all. However, if you strongly feel you are right, please put up a discussion in the article's discussion board and see what other editors say. Ninadhardikar (talk) 13:59, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FAR on Mumbai[edit]

I have nominated Mumbai for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Cirt (talk) 03:08, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Climate graph of Mumbai[edit]

So far as I remember, weatherbase data was used to generate the climate image (or, may be some other weather data website). Will ask Saravask for mentioning the source he used to create the image. This should not be a big problem. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:55, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:00, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mumbai edits[edit]

Excellent job, friend! If we can devote some more time, I hope there will be adequate referencing done for the whole article. We must save the article in FAR. Already, there has been a lot of India-related article that lost FA status lately. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 02:02, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hopefully more people will join in. We can say that in Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. Also, Abecedare has nominated it as one of the collaborations of the month (although that project is yet to attract large number of wikipedians).
Anyway, the workplan now is to address all the citation needed tags, and then also fix inappropriate reference formatting wherever needed. In the process, there would be some automatic prose improvement. Lastly, we'll eventually need to address the lead, as indicated in the FAR nomination. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 02:49, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Economy of Mumbai[edit]

You have made some changes to Mumbai, such as " Mumbai's GDP is 200,483 crore" to "Mumbai's GDP is 919,600 crore" But pleases enlighten me if Mumbai's GDP is 919,600 crore then per-capita income must be changed as per you edit.? if yes kindly let me know What it should be.? Thanks.-- . Shlok talk . 18:43, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, it should. But the figure currently on the page, seems to be from this article which is fairly new (posted in 2009) : http://www.livemint.com/2009/08/03224002/India-needs-cities-network-for.html and the GDP figures are from a research article of 2008 if i am not wrong. So they should be fairly ok unless we can find the new and current figures. I think we should mention the year the figures are from, so readers do not think they are the current ones. Creative Commons[edit]

We (at WP:Mumbai) are trying to arrange for a Creative Commons specialist to talk to Art Galleries and Museums in Mumbai and explain the different types of Creative Commons licenses to them (and advise them which ones are accepted on Wikipedia). This is part of WP:GLAM - trying to get them to release content under a Wikipedia acceptable license. Would you be interested in attending such a session? Part of your job would be to understand the whole thing and to convince people concerned to release content under CC-BY or CC-BY-SA. Around The Globeसत्यमेव जयते 06:56, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mumbai Economy[edit]

Hello. Regarding the Mumbai economy section, about the per capita figure, can you give me the source of the figures you have cited> It will be very useful if you can do so quickly, as the figures in the article are like a nasty joke on Mumbai's image. And yeah, keep going on the excellent work. Cheers! AnkitBhattTalk to me!!LifEnjoy 15:07, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bhai Kotwal, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 02:05, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ninadhardikar. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Bhai Kotwal".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bhai Kotwal}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 23:57, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
