Thanks - Erdos number 2 for Choudum and Sampathkumar

I put it back - my fault. --Kitresaiba (talk) 20:44, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

How about red links in 1 and 2?. --Kitresaiba (talk) 11:17, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Only if it's evident that the person is notable. There's a message at the start of section 3 asking for no redlinks there. When a redlink shows up in section 3, I kill it. When one shows up in section 1 or 2, I try to verify it. If it's not in our sources, I kill it. You'll find User:David Eppstein does the same. There are actually a number of redlinks in the first two sections I would prefer to get rid of, since although their Erdős number checks out, their notability doesn't seem to. It would be even better if someone created well-sourced articles on all those researchers. There are a few redlinks I've inserted myself that are still waiting for someone to create the articles. John F. Dumke and Lillia

Thanks for catching this error; the table generator that was used to produce these county lists occasionally messes up names of this format, and we who place the lists don't always notice. Nyttend (talk) 14:10, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

BTW on the pictures

Thanks for the continued addition of pictures! I've lately been uploading a lot of HABS pictures for Utah NRHP sites, but (being black and white) they're not the best; I've uploaded them primarily as placeholders. When you're out getting pictures, if you have a chance for sites that have these HABS pictures, would you please take and upload a picture? Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 19:14, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

And thanks for paying attention with the Lucin Cutoff picture, as you see I didn't. Nyttend (talk) 19:20, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

John Adrian Bondy

Regarding this change: do you have a reference that justifies the use of the word "former"? — Miym (talk) 14:19, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Sorry. I was just correcting the grammar and got a bit confused. Ntsimp (talk) 15:36, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem, the lead paragraph is confusing and should be fixed. I already tried to do that, but then I thought it would be better to get some comments regarding Talk:John Adrian Bondy#University of Waterloo first. — Miym (talk) 15:59, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Tombstone

Although I almost never work with article ratings, I was surprised to see you change Tombstone, Arizona to Start-class — the description that I read at the main assessments page makes the article look more like C-class. Would you please revisit it and restore the Start-class if you think I'm wrong? Nyttend (talk) 17:14, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Salt Lake City

My apologies; I didn't think of that. Nyttend (talk) 23:48, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Salt Lake City neighborhoods

With 230 different listings, Salt Lake City's NRHP list is getting long enough that it might deserve to be split. Some other cities have been split when their lists became too long, generally by officially-defined neighborhoods — see Philadelphia for an example. Do you know if Salt Lake City has any officially-defined neighborhoods? I couldn't find any at Salt_Lake_City,_Utah#Neighborhoods, but perhaps there's somewhere that I don't know where to look. Adminship

Having more admins who want to avoid drama would be a good thing. And having admins who are also content contributors also seems to me a good thing. I encrouage you to reconsider your oppose. Cheers. ChildofMidnight (talk) 17:57, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Konqueror 3.5.10

I've seen at the VP/T that you use Konqueror 3.5.10. Would you have the time to test some new Javascript feature for me over at the Commons? Unfortunately, I can't do it myself, since I have neither older Konqueror versions nor a Linux machine, and I never got Knoppix to start properly on my computer. The script in question is ImageAnnotator. It is tested on a wide array of browsers including Konqueror 4.2.3 (see the documentation), but if possible I'd like to identify (and possibly work around) problems on older browsers before it goes live. That's even more important as we're contemplating enabling this feature for everyone by default. Would be great if could help. Cheers, Lupo 07:57, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Ghost towns

Thanks for your review and edits to the Harshaw, Arizona article. I'm glad it could get an extra set of eyes so quickly after it was created. And thanks for assessing - I hate leaving articles I expand (or in this case create) as unassessed, but I don't like self-assessing either. One question: did you mean to assume troy ounces and short tons in the mining conversions (as opposed to regular ounces and tons)? If so, can you help me understand why those are the right assumptions? If there's something about the sources I used that I don't know about that means I should make the same assumptions next time, let me know.

I didn't know about the conversion templates, so thanks for showing them to me as well. Handy! --Transity (talkcontribs) 20:42, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: your reply on my talk page: I guess you learn something new every day! Now that you mention it, I think I may have been vaguely aware of some connection between troy ounces and precious metals, but the "short tons" was totally new to me. Thanks for the information. I'll be sure to use it next time. I'm glad you liked Harshaw, Arizona. I'm planning to expand a few more Arizona ghost towns and add a few more, when I get a chance. --Transity (talkcontribs) 21:42, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Cryptomeria cipher broken?

Hi, you recently added Cryptomeria cipher to Category:Broken block ciphers (diff). Was this an error, or do you know something that I don't? -- intgr [talk] 20:58, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

That was based on this paper from CRYPTO 2009. Ntsimp (talk) 21:25, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks; I found an extended abstract of the paper and updated the article to document the attacks. -- intgr [talk] 17:44, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Newly incorporated towns in utah

Thanks for the nice work on these controversially-incorporated towns; it's quite interesting and informative to read, even for someone like me who isn't extremely interested in goings-on in Utah. Nyttend (talk) 02:26, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Russian Settlement, Utah

I'm pretty much done expanding User:GreenGlass1972/Russian Knoll; I think it's ready to be moved to Russian Settlement, Utah. Look it over and see if it needs anything more. After you move it, I'll nominate it to WP:DYK. Thanks for the collaboration!Ntsimp (talk) 21:31, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

It was a pleasure collaborating on this article with you - thanks for all of your help! I wish all of the Utah ghost towns had this much information available! In the spring I'll probably trek out to the area and get a photo or two that can be added, since I wanted to head out that way for some other article photos anyway. Any time you'd like to collaborate on another article just drop me a note - I'm only online two or three times per week since I use the local coffee shop wifi, but I get a lot done. GreenGlass1972 (talk) 00:51, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
If you create any more articles in userspace in the future, remember to WP:MOVE them to an article rather than just copying and pasting, so you can preserve the edit history. I've submitted a request at WP:RM to have an administrator fix this. Ntsimp (talk) 01:04, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, it didn't even occur to me to do it that way. That'd be much more efficient, and, like you said, preserve the history. GreenGlass1972 (talk) 01:07, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
