Edit summary[edit]

It is inappropriate to ask other editors not to edit an article, as you did in your edit summary for your contribution to Human male sexuality. Please understand that Wikipedia is proud of being "the encyclopedia that anyone can edit", and editors will not take kindly to being told not to edit. --RexxS (talk) 21:31, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that I did not tell other editors not to edit at all, but only not to for a very short time. I do not see how they are "being told not to edit", as I was only asking them not to, they could still go ahead and do it if they decided to ignore my plea. I was in no way, shape or form in a position where I could forcefully deny other people's contributions.

That being said, I do understand where you're coming from and why my request was inappropriate, and I will not ask other for the same again. That edit was the first ever I made on Wikipedia and I did not fully grasp how the "View history" page worked, so I made that edit summary worrying that my course tutor would not be able to see my work if someone else made changes, which was obviously not true.
