I'm sorry for that. I did have permission from the Neighborhood to use the deed restrictions, but it was not in writing. Oliveman6 (talk) 00:03, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I noticed that you recently removed content from Waldo, Florida without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sorry about that. I am new to editing Wikipedia and am still learning what is and isn't considered noteworthy information. Oliveman6 (talk) 04:00, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Donald Albury: I would instead suggest this was "the malicious removal of encyclopedic content", per Wikipedia:Vandalism. Oliveman6 was angry that I had been removing the unencyclopedic cruft they had been adding to Cumberland Hill, Lexington (see also Talk:Cumberland Hill, Lexington#'Stub-class' article content). This editor works in Lexington and probably lives in Cumberland Hill. They have been edit warring to include unencyclopedic information about the Cumberland Hill Neighborhood Association and its garage sale, as well as all the rules the residents need to follow, like not owning microwave dishes, or keeping poultry or livestock. Just look at the unencyclopedic cruft at Cumberland Hill, Lexington. In response, they went to an article they had never edited before, Waldo, Florida, and removed the well-sourced content I had recently added. Worse, the reason I researched and added all that content, was because I felt sorry for User:Glenajohnson, the city councilor who expressed frustration with the Waldo article. This was my way of showing readers that great people have come from Waldo. Then Oliveman6 deleted it all because it was "irrelevant and unencycolpedic". This comment is quite rude and note really true. This user @Magnolia677 removed relevant information on an EPA Consent Decree in Lexington, Ky. And the community response, which is objectively notable for an article. They subsequently went through my contributions and seemingly arbitrarily removed several of my other contributions wholesale, also pertaining to environmental issues. I decided to review their contributions for any mistakes and found they had added similarly irrelevant information elsewhere. Perhaps I was frustrated with having my work deleted, but I was applying the same standards this power user does.
Honestly the entire experience makes me not want to be a part of this community, especially if @Magnolia677 is what they would tag as a "polite" user. Best of luck. We may disagree, but let's not make this personal because it isn't. Environmental advocacy is noteworthy in this day and age whether or not one Wikipedia power user says otherwise.

So in response, you went to my user page and removed the "polite" tag. --Magnolia677 (talk) 11:10, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Correct. I removed it in response to your most recent comment. Because you are not polite. Feel free to add it back in or revert all my other edits, whatever you do around here. I won't be checking notifications or using the site to edit again. Goodbye. Oliveman6 (talk) 11:19, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you do choose to edit again, please read the policy at Wikipedia:Civility before doing so. Donald Albury 12:00, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I suspected as much, but didn't have time to look into it further. Donald Albury 11:57, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023 II[edit]

Don't mess with other people's userpages, as you did here. You'll be in trouble if it happens again. (Yes, I see you say above that you're retiring, but people often change their minds about that, so I'm warning you anyway.) Bishonen | tålk 11:40, 11 September 2023 (UTC).[reply]
