Metallica[edit]

Hi, I hope all is well. I am the person responsible for adding the quotes from Evile frontman Matt Drake to Metallica related articles. I would like to state that I have penned four featured articles and also have a featured topic, and am not affiliated with Evile in any respect. Please take note of this when making such statements as "he is not a critic he is a member of a band that seams to me they are seeking atention and they are putting their expertise on everything Metallica for self promoting." I am not affiliated with Evile in any respect, and am just a heavy metal fan. Reception from groups as regards specific albums can be found in featured material such as South of Heaven (admittedly written by myself), or Reign in Blood.

The only valid reason to remove such content would be if Evile was not deemed a notable act, and therefore their opinion not notable. However, I feel their opinion is notable, as is the opinion of other notable artists. You're welcome to add the critical opinions of other notable artists into these Metallica related articles, or I can add those opinions with some Google searching if you wish. The reasons I feel Evile are a notable act is because;

  1. They are signed to a notable and established label in Earache Records.
  2. They have toured with such acts as Megadeth.
  3. Their debut album was produced by Flemming Rasmussen, a noted producer who produced such albums as Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and ...And Justice For All amongst other metal albums.

In my opinion, this adheres to Wikipedia:Notability. Also, all material is cited and adheres to Wikipedia:Citing sources. Therefore, I feel adding the material was the correct decision. If I didn't feel adding the material adhered to policy, I wouldn't have added it. Removing content, as you have done, is actually a violation of Wikipedia's Wikipedia:Vandalism, and is an official English Wikipedia policy. However, as opposed to making a complaint, I'd prefer to talk to you in private. Wikipedia has a metal project at WP:HMM, and it'd be great if you could join and become a valued member. If you need help in learning the ropes and improving content, editors such as myself, User:J Milburn, User:M3tal H3ad (a co-member of the Slayer WikiProject who actually got Metallica promoted to WP:FA), User:Skeletor2112 and others are people who are willing to help if possible, and give advice. It'd be great to welcome a new, active contributor aboard, and help in the mission of improving metal related content on Wikipedia. Thanks for your time, and I look forward to working with you in future. LuciferMorgan (talk) 06:49, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your correction to my mistake, i seriously believe in the integrity of wikipedia since its a tool I use a lot in my work and just for plain recreation. In this case I found odd all the evile claims to appear in a lot of the critical reception section in the Metallica Albums topic. I thought they where created for self-promoting since the Evile topic itself is quite vague, maybe i over reacted but people are always messing up with metallica in every viable forum and wikipedia should be the exception. Then again I thank you for your advise, from now on i shall be more careful with the content I think is vandalism.
