Wadestown page move

Hi, I originally created the Wadestown page, and I specifically named it Wadestown, New Zealand because there was already a Wadestown, West Virginia page at the time. The Wadestown, West Virginia page was created in 2010, two years before I created the Wadestown, New Zealand page.

Editing on some of the local authorities' specific templates

Why are you editing on some of the specific templates of the local authorities of New Zealand? Such as Hauraki District, Matamata-Piako District and South Waikato District. Is it because you don't appreciate how all and every populated places are organized by ward, etc? jlog3000 (talk) 11:07, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi jlog3000. I have re-added the ward divisions to all the templates. I have not put all the redlinks back in yet, as I can't find evidence they are all legally recognised or covered in reliable sources as per WP:NGEO. Some appear to be Census tracts. I mean I don't mind you revamping a bit on the templates, but also keep the full populated places (within their grouped wards). New Zealand localities and suburbs

Kia ora Paewiki, fantastic work on New Zealand localities and suburbs! Thanks so much for creating all these articles. I'm currently going through the list and tidying up the corresponding Wikidata entries. Many of the localities now have two entries in Wikidata and whilst it's not much effort to merge those, I wonder whether you know that you can create a link to Wikidata yourself once you've created an article? There should be an entry for every locality on Wikidata already, but there isn't necessarily one each suburb yet. When you've got an article published, head across to Wikidata, type in the name and see whether there's an entry already. If yes, easily add it by editing the field under the heading "Wikipedia". The code that goes into the first box is "en" (for English WP) and the second box takes the article title. Hit "publish" and that's all there is to it.

So far, I've merged dozens of Wikidata entries. Having separate items on Wikidata isn't the biggest problem on earth, but sometimes, there's a link to Commons there and that will only appear in the left sidebar if the correct entry has been linked to. List of hospitals in NZ

Belated thanks for your work re-formatting and tidying up this page. It's a huge improvement on what was there. I'd like to add the Karitane hospitals. Do you think they should be added as a group or individually like the St Helens hospitals?Gertrude206 (talk) 02:14, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
