I added links from articles and artwork that were published by other publishers/local newspapers. Connection Magazine, Warren Patch, Warren Showcase and Independent Press. I also included website of Art Center Sarasota where Garafola teaches. The copy was written by that person that runs the classes. There are also many images available via google search under Ralph Garafola.

if this is not satisfactory, please be more specific in what you are requesting. Thank you

A tag has been placed on Draft:Ralph Garafola, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, thanks for message. In case you didn't see the edits, the draft was declined by Tseung Kwan O who said Notability of the person is not shown in this draft. Please read Wikipedia's notability guidelines for more details. And also, you may need to summarize the points in "Portraits Around the Nation" It was then nominated for deletion by another editor as obvious spam.

I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to him, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing him. Most of the text is either unsourced or sourced to unacceptable sites
  • More seriously, it was written in a highly promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: became one of New Jersey's best photo retoucher [sic]... still lifes capture the personality and character of his subjects while his landscapes and seascapes capture the mood of the scenes... Garafola says, "All my paintings are portraits. Whether my subject is a person, landscape, seascape or still life, my approach is to portray my subject in its natural environment. It puts the viewer inside the painting. My paintings realistically depict what nature has created. (quoting self-praise is spam) ...ultimate sacrifice made by our heroes so we can continue living with the freedoms we have in our nation... this beautiful painting that can be personalized with the photo of your hero – creating a heartfelt work of art that truly honors their sacrifice. You can purchase a giclee reproduction with your Hero’s [sic] photo inserted into the frame. (you didn't forget the sales pitch!)— and on and on, at best a gushing hagiography, at worse blatant spam/sales leaflet
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. that's particularly the case when they are spamlinks to sales sites. External links shouldn't include social media.
  • Your edits indicate that you have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. That's particularly the case if you are him, closely associated with him, or you are being remunerated for writing this highly promotional text by him or his publisher.
  • If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that he is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
  • others that were helping me commented. I see no comments or edits by other editors on the page or its talk page. If you are not editing as an individual, please desist, it is not permitted to operate a joint account or act on behalf of a company. Your man may well be notable, but a mishmash based on unacceptable references, gushing spam and outright sales talk does him no favours.

Please declare any COI, and I'll then see if there is anything worth salvaging. Also see Frida Kahlo as an example of a reasonable good article, so you can see how to reference the article and write facts, not fantasy. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:33, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

HI Jim, I better understand with this explanation. If you can help me get my article back I can correct it. I am writing about an artist because I admire his work and teachings. Please if you can just get me the work that was done so far I can fix it. Regards, PaintbrushArt PaintbrushArt (talk) 16:33, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
