License tagging for Image:Alexfasttalented.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alexfasttalented.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Articles have been deleted[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. However, two of your recently created articles have been speedy deleted as they met WP:CSD#A7 which states that articles are to be deleted if they make no assertion of notability for inclusion in an encyclopedia. Please see WP:BAND for notability guidelines. Thank you. Húsönd 14:31, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Sacred soul[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sacred soul, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --OnoremDil 14:54, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a place to promote your band, sorry. Friday (talk) 16:53, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest?[edit]

Please read about conflicts of interest on Wikipedia. Friday (talk) 16:55, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here's why you're going to have an uphill battle: You came in as a new editor and your only actions so far are making unsourced articles about a couple of college bands that apparently your friends are in. So, you give no impression of being here to improve the encyclopedia- rather, it looks like you're here to promote a couple of otherwise unheard-of bands. Hence, the conflict of interest. It's nothing personal, I'm sure the bands are good. But do they belong in an encyclopedia? Why not promote them on your own website instead? Friday (talk) 17:08, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, Friday. Nice try, though.[edit]

Sandbox[edit]

Your articles are being deleted because you are reposting the same information that an administrator decided minutes earlier wasn't notable.
My only suggestion would be to create your articles at User:Peedrag/The Big Picture (band) and User:Peedrag/Sacred soul. Creating them in your user space so you can work on them will probably keep them from speedily deleted within minutes. They will very likely need more reliable sources that indicate notability before they would be allowed to remain though. (This trivial mention in the Baltimore Sun that you posted on Talk:Sacred soul would not qualify on its own.)--OnoremDil 17:13, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Trevorbrooks.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Trevorbrooks.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Unspecified source for Image:Sasserpointingresized.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sasserpointingresized.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 12:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
