I encourage you to continue and do as much as you can, we definitely are weak in that part of Wikiproject Minnesota. If the reference citation system confuses you, you can simply do this: <ref>[http://linklinklink Link title whatever-ok!]</ref> Leave a space between the link and the "title" of the link, and all text after the link will become the link title regardless of spaces or punctuation.
