Disambiguation link notification for July 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Marie Hippolyte de Gueulluy, 2nd Marquis of Rumigny, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peer. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Sorry, noted. Primeolives (talk) 14:50, 14 July 2023 (UTC) It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, sorry for the late reply, I only just saw this. Thank you. I had noticed it had been moved and have added several references over the past few hours. Is there any thing else I can do to better it? I'm still learning. Thanks again Primeolives (talk) 20:03, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 21:38, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Primeolives,
Please leave an edit summary with every page move you are doing. It is not readily apparent why you are moving some articles and why the new page title is an improvement over the previous one. This will help your fellow editors understand your editing strategy better and prevert reverts of your page moves. Thank you for starting to do this consistently. Liz Read! Talk! 21:40, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes ok, sorry and thank you Primeolives (talk) 20:14, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you move the Louis de Broglie page?[edit]

I don't see any justification in the Talk page and moreover this very topic was discussed previously and the current name adopted at that time. Johnjbarton (talk) 13:53, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, sorry I just saw this. I simply moved it so the article would be like other dukes like name, 6th duke of place that was all. Sorry if I offended you Primeolives (talk) 17:30, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok I see. This particular Duc was a Nobel Physicists, somewhat more notable I think. Johnjbarton (talk) 18:11, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To be fair I agree plus I had edited the opening paragraph stating that he was the 7th Duke so readers will know either way. Sorry to offend you though Primeolives (talk) 18:15, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

IP blocked[edit]

You have emailed me saying your IP has been blocked as a sock. Did you previously edit as LouisPhilippeCharles (talk · contribs)? GiantSnowman 13:27, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. It's a long story but over adecade ago I had an account called LouisPhilippeCharles which was blocked by UserFavonian I forget exactly when or even why because I had a very severe brain injury in July of 2012 BUT I remember editing Wikipedia while at uni the previous year so they must have blocked me just prior to brain injury (I'm also 75% blind as a result) About a year maybe 2 ago I contacted a then admin called UserSalvidrim who revived said account for UserFavion to blocked it for no reason after having edited for about 25 minutes. Despite what Favonian has stated I have not nor have I ever vandalised anything on Wikipedia. I have only ever tried to better it which is the reason editors exist afterall. As I said remember I am a human being with feelings and deserve to be treated like the decent person I am. I do not want trouble. I just want to better Wikipedia for all Primeolives (talk) 13:49, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @Favonian and Salvidrim!: for their views as they will be familiar with the matter, but the LouisPhilippeCharles account was editing as late as January 2016, not 2012 - and appears to be banned from editing (not just blocked). GiantSnowman 14:16, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Salvidrim revived theaccount as LouisPhilippeCharlesNew butFavonian blocked it. They seem to really dislike me for reasons unknown. I'veeven seen a category named sockpuppets oof LouisPhilippeCharles and can honestly say most have zero to do with me looking through the edit history those accounts edit things I have no interest in like sport or things I have absolutely no interest in or knowledge of. Just because Favonian has the power to block and deem so and so as a puppet does not mean they should. As I have said, I am another human being and do not deserve to be treated like some sort of animal just because you/they/an admin has not met me in person or spoken to me. That is not fair at all. I'll say it again I'm a human being, with feelings not a machine :( please help. Primeolives (talk) 14:35, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
the brain injury has really crippled my memory BUT just in case you think I'm lying this is the newspaper article about said injury my point is I MAY have got the dates wrong but Favonian seems to have it in for me

Appealing your ban[edit]

You are an admitted sock of banned account LouisPhilippeCharles (talk · contribs) - see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive277#LouisPhilippeCharlesNew. Purely as an administrative move and on the advice from another admin received by email I am blocking this account and removing talk page access.

I have no views on whether the ban is still needed 7 years later - I advise you not to open any more accounts or edit from any IPs, and instead to follow the process detailed at WP:UNBAN to try and unban yourself. I wish you luck. GiantSnowman 15:11, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They are trying to contact me on fr.wiki despite my requests that they follow UNBAN. GiantSnowman 16:02, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
