Copyvio[edit]

Sorry, but I had to remove the text you copy and pasted from the Atallah Family site as it is a copyright violation. You can rewrite the text in your own words (but make sure you reference where you got the information from), but you cannot paste in text you've found elsewhere. Help[edit]

Sarah, I'm still pretty new to this, so I'll have to review what I'm doing first.. I reloaded the pic now from a different computer because my other internet connection went over limit so it was too slow. I just figured out I can't add bitmap images so I just converted it to JPG and added it.. Hopefully this works thanks... P.S. Where do I message you from? No worries. It can be hard feeling your way at first, I know. With regard to references, you list your references at the end of the article under the reference list. Also, it's good to use footnotes in the text (and that will help get rid of the verify tag). If you want to, you can just put the references into the article and then I'll show you how to footnote them. Jieh[edit]

Hi, I'm glad you're happy with the page! I agree, it's looking really good and the extra text and picture you added look great! With regard to photos, you can either set them out like they are now or you can use an image gallery. It's really just a matter of personal preference. I can show you examples of the image galleries they have here if you want to see if you prefer them to the current layout. Nice effort on the Jieh page[edit]

Good effort on the Jieh page. I was wondering if the port of Jieh is a regular international port like the ports of Beirut, Jounieh, Tripoli, Sidon, and Tyre in that they can recieve any kind of ship (passenger, cargo, etc.) from outside Lebanon.

Perhaps you could make a section in the article about the port, particularly since it caters to the biggest thermal powerplant. (MEA707 04:49, 10 March 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Thanks for your response John. My name's Nabil. Thanks for the info about Jieh port. I was asking because I am trying to compile a list of official legal port of entries into Lebanon. I know there are 4 border crossings with Syria and at least 4 ports that can receive ships from other countries. Beirut airport is the only operational civilian airport at the moment, though this may change with the proposed future development of Kleyate airport north of Tripoli and Rayak Airbase in the Bekaa Valley. I am a university student at the moment working on a Business Administration degree. I'm just a big fan of MEA and perhaps one day in the future I will work for them! Take care. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Thanks for uploading File:Stgeorgesjieh vandalised.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge!
